Which side of an emergency blanket reflects light the best? Pros Please advise.

Hello everyone. I have a micro grow going with flourescent lighting. The only reflective material I could get was those emergency blankets also known as a Mylar blanket, space blanket, first aid blanket, thermal blanket or weather blanket. I have them in 2 types:
1. Gold on one side/silver on the other.
2. Silver on both sides.

I did some reading and found only about which side reflects heat better. And it was contradictory information anyway. There were mixed opinions. Some said gold reflects heat better, some said the silver side reflects heat better. But in regards to just silver-sided blankets there was a general agreement that the shinier side reflects heat better.

But thats heat. I am interested in which side reflects light the best? I don't grasp physics well enough to know this. Maybe you smarter scientific fellows could help me out. Heat reflection doesn't interest me. All I care about is which side reflects light the best on both types of blankets??
I know mylar, panda plastic, etc. is way better reflectively. But these blankets is all I could get and all I have to work with, so please don't go off the subject.
Also, would layering these blankets one on another improve light reflectivity? If so, which sides go together and in which order? Please educate this ol' poor stoner, those of you who know their sh*t.

......-Ahhh..... the Chronic.

Use the shiny side on the outside, dull side to the wall ..

Read the back of the package. Doesnt it tell you the shiny side reflects sunlight and the other way keeps heat in ?

Actually the dull side reflects better... that's y flat white paint is always advised rather than glossy white. The shiny side can create hot spots because it doesn't reflect the light evenly.

Are these emergency blankets a worthy investment.? I read somewhere that people buy these instead of straight mylar as they work out cheaper but work great

Another option is the windscreen heat blocker for cars, they are cheap and reflect light well, disperse it a bit too, which can help in micro cabs, could also waste. They area also really easy to work with.

As for the blanket, I would go with whatever side is meant to be against your body, heat and light share a lot of the same characteristics, as far as reflect ability.

I bought some Emergency Thermal Blankets from MCR Medical online at http://www.mcrmedical.com/
for $2.15 each.
They are silver on one side and gold on the other side. The size is 59" X 87" (5 foot x 7.5 feet). Folded, the blanket is about the size of a pack of playing cards. The reflective properties are fantastic, although I don't know which side is the most reflective of the 2.
