Which of these Led Lights are better?

I will be growing (2-3) plants very soon for my very first grow and would like to know which one of these led lights I should buy. Please take note that I can not spend over $200 on Lighting and have limited space.

This looks like it will fit the bill, what do you guys think?
135W LED Grow Light Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar

This looks good to me as well, which one of these is better quality?
UFO 90 Watt Gorw Quad Band Red Blue Orange White Light with 2 Watt x 45 LEDs
http://goo.gl/YR4j5

What is the main difference between the 135w and 90w lights? and will they be alright for vegging and flowering under? I am thinking about the blackstar 135w, but could really use some good advice before choosing which to buy.

To be honest, I wouldn't want to grow 2 plants under a UFO, much less 3. You can do it, but you are stretching the capabilities of these lights severely. I have a Pro-Grow 180 and 2 plants is the best it can do, imho.

Good advice. The 2 main reasons LEDs have a bad reputation are cheap quality panels and too high expectations of what the light can do.

If you are only choosing between the two, go with the blackstar. If you wanted to stretch the lighting to accommodate 2-3 plants you will have to add more wattage, a good place to start would be T-8's from the local hardware store (20$, and 15$ more for the tubes), 64 watt 4' double tube fluorescent lighting can stretch an led light much further if you run them together. If you are just looking for a flowering set up get 2700k bulbs, 5000-6000k for veg. Look at lots of threads for information!
Best of luck in your growing endeavors,

t8 s have almost no penetration. they are only good for using reptile uvb bulbs. if you want to add fluorescents. cfls will do a better job than t8's. i would add t5 with some zoo med flora suns and wave point coral waves and uvl redsuns.

lighthouse has some 3 watt ufo's i think. i would not go with pro grow. i almost did. after talking to Ben at hydro hut he was more pushing more expensive panels. he wouldn't answer any of my questions. so from that i would say they are shady.

blackstar, led star, eshine, htg, and a few others get their lights from cidly. so you can get them there for a $1 a watt.

apollo 4 is around $200 after shipping and 135 true watts. 3w x 60. it will cover a 2x2 you can choose your own spectrum and panel color and 3 year warranty. its the exact same light as blackstar chrome.

I'm ordering the apollo 8 next week. then selling my 1000w hid and getting another.

Hello Hyroot, Thanks for the advice mate.
I have looked into the Apollo 4 and I am thinking about buying it. I spoke to one of there helpers and had trouble getting information out of the guy
. He said that he would email me some information on the Apollo 4, although he is really pushing the Apollo 6. Just wondering if the Apollo 4 will be alright for what I want to do? I am also unsure about which spectrum and panel color I should pick? I am quite the noob when it comes to growing but I am doing my best to learn XD

the apollo 6 would probably be better for 3 plants. thats is $189 + shipping. i just said the apollo 4 because its more your price range, that would do 2 plants good most likely

my spectrum is going to be per orb or spot

5 Red 660nm (90 degree)
3 Red 650-670nm (90 degree)
2 Red 630-640nm (90 degree)
1 Orange 610-615nm (90 degree)
1 Blue 450-470nm (90 degree)
1 Blue 420-430nm (90 degree)
1 White 10,000K (90 degree)
1 White 2700K (90 degree)

then im adding 2 54w t5 wave point coral waves that has high blue 420nm and 450nm and a lot of IR at 760nm and uv-a at 380nm

Im not adding IR to led because they are at 730nm (useless) and the IR diodes are driven at .7 watts where the other diodes are driven at 2.3 watts so there would be loss in wattage and they are $2 extra per IR diode

Hello Hyroot, Would your spectrum per orb or spot be a good choice for me? I am not going to be able to add any of the additional lighting you mentioned for now, will this be a problem? Will I be able to Veg and flower under the Apollo 4 alone? I will be growing auto strains if that makes any difference.

I have never done autos. I can't speak on them. I personally do not like the idea of autos though. Thats just me though.

Im going to be using mine for flower only so thats why im adding additional lights. That spectrum should be good for vegging. Maybe add another blue 450nm or a white 6500k in place of one of the reds. . you just do not want IR (infrared) during veg. It drives flowering and makes buds dense.

Also I just noticed in the other post you said they are charging you $238 for the apollo 4. Thats what they are charging me for the 8. They told me $189 for the apollo 6. So try talking to another rep. I know their english is kind of old world. So they may have misunderstood. In the emails I get it seems there are a few words missing in their sentences to make their point make sense. After I reread it I understand more what they say. Like when I was explained about shipping costs. Instead of saying more or alot. They said "if buying 2 items the shipping price is at range since buying 1 item the shipping is much." Thats it for that sentence.

Yeah, I was hoping that autos would be a more fool proof choice for my first grow ^^

Thanks for the info, I appreciate your help. Unfortunately I do not know to much about lighting so all this is very new to me.
You mentioned that I would be better off with either a blue 450nm or a white 6500k in place of one of the reds. Which blue/white would you recommend? and which red would you suggest that I drop? I'm just worried that I will choose the wrong ones.

I meant
$125 for the Apollo 4 ($238 after postage) and $175 for the Apollo 6 ($301 after postage), does that sound about right?.

I was not including postage.

Actually sub a blue 420 for red 660 and add another 630 in place of 660 too. Im changing my original ratio a little bit.

For you:

3 Red 660nm................... (90 degree)
3 Red 650-670nm........... (90 degree)
3 Red 630-640nm........... (90 degree)
1 Orange 610-615nm .... (90 degree)
1 Blue 450-470nm ..........(90 degree)
2 Blue 420-430nm.......... (90 degree)
1 White 10,000K.............. (90 degree)
1 White 2700K .................(90 degree)

You can use paypal with cidly too. I told them I was not comfortable with a bank to bank transfer , putting my account number out there. I asked if they would accept credit cards. They said no but they do paypal. That insures every transaction.

From cidly. Its $358 for an apollo 8 after shipping to the west coast.

Thanks for this Hyroot, you have been Very helpful. I'm Going to order now and will be using this spectrum. Once I have everything setup I will start a grow journal. oh and I would have replied sooner if I had noticed the second page to this thread.. lol I Guess that I'm a noob when it comes to being part of a forum as well.
