which light and ventilation would you recomend for small veg box?

Hey,

I am getting a veg box, so i can speed up a process a bit :).

Secret Jardin Propagator 90 would fit me just nicely, it is small enough so it is not in a way and big enough i can even do flowering inside.

The recomended lighting is:
Lighting Advised
Blooming 2000°K: 3x TLED 26W ( 63 EUR per unit)
Growing TLED 6500°K: 2x TLED 26W ( 63 EUR per unit)

But i am thinking about T5:
This one:
Could i Use T5 with K2000 bulbs also for flower?

I like the fact T5 produces less heat, which is good in my case. Is also cheaper...

For ventilation i was thinking this:

Thank you very much for your input!

I would skip the t5 fixture and get a 300w LED go with something full spectrum 3000-4000k 2.5umol/j or greater. They’ve gotten cheap here, I paid less for the 3 150w leds I’ve got in my 2x4, I’m sure eu prices are comparable. If that’s not an option 400w hps/mh will do a 1sqm tent pretty much perfectly.

So that tents called a propagator for a reason, because its for seeds or clones.
But hey I've seen crazier things work and it can be done.

Nobody has brought up the ventilation.
That fan will not pull air through that filter, or any other filter for that matter.
I know because I tried one years ago to vent my drying cab to another tent through a meter of duct without filter. It didn't even have enough pull to overcome the minimal resistance if a meter of duct.
It did nothing.

As for lighting I would keep looking.

Best advice I can give is don't rush into anything

get something dimmable because 98cm is really low and you may end up burning or stressing them and t5s do produce a lot of heat led strips would be the way to go also you can start with a couple of standart led bulbs from philips or something it would be much cheaper and would work well

Ill go by feet. Your grow area is roughly 3 feet x 2 feet, x a bit over 3 ft, so say 19 Cu/ft

At 40w sq/ft is optimal for growing using LED, that would mean you would require roughly 240w LED using the best Samsung diodes.

If you were to use an HID you would need roughly 62w Sq/ft or 375w. You could get away with a 315w Ceramic Metal Halide. Or if you want a bit more powerful a 400w HID/Hortilux HPS bulb.

Id look into this light. Its also dimmable

That is a very interesting fan. I was about to drop some cash on a AC Infinity as it was the quietest I could find, that trumps it by 10 dB. That would suit me better as I can mount it outside the tent.

Some more research is needed. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, seems too good to be true. The 22db might be for the lowest setting, but I think that might be enough for me.

No, he has 0.5m^3 or 19 cubic feet of volume

Edit: and it's euro so 96-600 cubic meters per hour :)

Your right, I was tripping for a second. I used 36 inches instead of a 3 for feet, and didnt notice it was cfh vs cfm. I use a Vortex fan that ventilates 1140 cfm. I wrongly assumed that rating was cfm.

My tent is 2.3M^3 so I guess it would be fine.:D I have a pair of Systemair RVKs, I think I might build a MDF box like that and see what difference it makes. I have plenty of rock wool insulation to fill the box with.

I was given the RVKs for nothing. I am not keen on them because they are so damn noisy.

Is it possible, the light is to strong, since it will be used in propagator setting?
I allreadt have a mars ts1000. Now i am thinking to use this in small tent and buy easygrow v2 250 for the “normal” tent (2x2x6).

If youre going to use that box for clones, then yes, the light is to strong. If I was going to use it for clones Id just use some T8s. If I was going to use it for seedlings, Id use a T5. It would be much simpler.

The fan I posted will go down to 96 cf/h, which is lower than the fan you posted, which is 185 cf/h. And is much more quiet than the fan you posted. 10db is alot more quiet.

For a 2 x 2 tent all you need is 160w. 2 x 2 is 4 sq/ft, and optimal lighting for that size at 40.3w sq/ft is 161w.

My Gavita 1700e is 645w, and is good for a 4 x 4 area. 16 sq/ft. 645w divided by 16 sq/ft is 40.3w sq/ft. You could buy the EasyGrow S250, and dim it.

Ive been rooting clones with T8s since the 70s. I used to grow with 8ft SHO T12s in the mid 70s, before there were HID used for growing.

I myself start seedlings with either 1000w Hortilux HPS, or the Gavita 1700e at 24 inches. I blast mine from the beginning. Though I dont use a tent, and I have airflow like its outside. If you dont have good fresh air exchange, youre asking for problems. Especially if you use really strong light.
