Hi all, looking to replace two air cooled 600w hps hanging over a 2m x 1m sog tray, was looking at the black dog xlu 750. Are they as good as they make them out to be? Anyone replaced a 600w hps with a xlu750? I know they say a good 1000w grow will beat an xlu750 but u think id see an increase over the sixes?

Look the same as the Mars II range from TopLEDGrowlights, probably are, it matters not. We all know where most LEDs come from these days, no Biggee, so

As far as a HPS comparison goes, a average 600HPs gives out PAR readings of 1800 Umoles at 12 inches, 680 at 24 inches.

That's a good question to ask black dog, does there light come any where near that?

I have still not seen a side by side grow with led vs hps and actually seeing the led win the yield . searched you tube and other sites. only manufactures that sell the lights say there better .

No it doesnt ive found a chart at growers house, they apparently tested it, was 1355 at twelve inches and 429 fading out to 133 at the edge at 24 inches. So doesnt look very good after looking at that. Does any one make large panels to cover 1 x 1 that actually rival a hps?

The black dog comparsions to a 1000w dont look too bad no where near a 1000hps results. The xlu 750 they say replaces a 1000 but we know thats bull. I was thinking it might give a slight increase over a 600 but cant find a side by side or any info anywhere. I dont want to go to led if its going to give me airy light flowers

just a snippet of info for y'all..

LED : BudMaster II 675 XG --- 2440 µmoles/m2/s @ 12 inches --- 1270 µmoles/m2/s @ 24. over 1m x 1m area.

OSRAM Leds are more powerful then that aswell. All under going PAR & first grow testing at mo, then a true matched comparison grow will be done & shown at every week of growth.

The osram version

BudMaster II Osram 675 -- over 2000 umoles/m2/s @24 inches , ---- @ 1 Metre height = 1168 umoles/m2/s, amazing test results!!!!

Now for the proof, as a test grows are being arranged, i have the BM II 450 Osram LED test started already.
