Ok, I believe that I have finally figured out which LED companies to trust and which to not deal with. I have come down to three solid companies that I am interested in trying. I will post links to all three lights so that you guys can take a look and drop an opinion (hopefully I can do that) I have looked through a few led grows and know that this is the way I want to grow :leaf:

HGL 63w Penetrator $275:

PS 90w Illuminator UFO $299:

GLH 120w Spectra $350:

Now that I have all three legit led's in the field, it comes time to make a well rounded decision. From my perspective, the penetrator seems too weak, but have heard of good results. The PS seems to be the average led with a solid company. In the end, the GLH has a high wattage, good price range, great looking light. I've seen Irishboy's results with them and am very pleased. I have only read one bad review, but believe it was kind of bs and that GLH is a good company. See'n as all of these are similiar in price, I am really looking to go with the best choice. So, in your honest opinion, which led light should I go with? Try to make an educated guess and keep on led subject please. I am currently growing with HID and know that I am ready to switch over to led's.

I will be growing in a 2'x2'x5' grow tent with 4 plants in 3 gallon pots. Strains consisting of Nirvana's fem. snow white, white widow, ice, and fem. hawaii maui waui. All of these lights are said to have a cone of light that can produce high yields in 4 sq ft of space, which is perfect for me! I will also be making a grow journal here, so you guys can actually see my results once I get going :weed:

I have heard bad things about the UFO. I would go with the Spectra...

I built my own boards with 1 watt LED's I bought from the internet. Spent like $40 to make (10) boards each has (25) 1 watt LED's - 1 blue to 4 red. Had great results. Used them with 2 hps from beginning to end.

I remember just last week when I believed that UFO was the best stuff out there and was catching on to the cheapo chinese ones. I know better now and will not deal with any of those. I would have to somewhat agree to go with the spectra and I am backed up by Irishboy's GLH spectra grow. If you didn't know, I'd consider him somewhat of an LED expert.

Interesting to hear that you built your own led's. Must have some know how and ingenuity to create a useful one of those without knowing proper spectrums and crap that the LED companies spend time researching. I'm liking that you had great results with the supplemental hps. I also find that using veg cfl's is all I need to get them big and healthy to begin with. I myself have a 150w hps that I will use as supplementary side lighting during flowering. Hopefully mixing all these useful spectrums will yield dense nugs :)

I've been recommended to go with the 180w spectra, but $475 seems steep to a small time grower. But if it does yield A LOT more nug and I am a business man about it, I can earn all my money back and still have the light. Hmm extra $125 for 60w may not be the smartest way for me since I'll be using whatever I can get my hands on as supplemental lighting.

Old thread, but I'd thought I'd comment. I would recommend the GLH Spectra. If you search the forums for a user called irishboy he uses these lights with great success. I'm considering using LEDs over HPS just to reduce money spent on cooling. That and I will have a smaller grow space.

you guys know if you have axcess to 220v you can plug it in to your lights and reduce your ele. i have made a light 2x4 all crees at 350ma running 20watt drivers pulling 78dcv i have 10 drivers pulling 25leds per driver all so i have 4 300watt led lights in my veg room and 1 120watt light they do real well the veg room is 30x30 in the flower room i did 4 600watt leds the buds were smaller but the thc was more it looked like snow on the buds now i have put 2 1000hps in the flower room with the leds iam getting bigger buds the plants go under the leds for 1 mon. and then i push them under the hps hps and leds are next to each other i did a test with 1 600watt led and 1 hps 1000 11plants hps 650grams led 600watt 450grams i use all of the leds i sell if you would like to see pics let me know i tell you what the leds will do so after you buy there is no surprize it didnt do something kentrugrolights

Its a full spectrum LED panel if that matters, I haven't seen any other company go for more than twelve. And they're the only company I know of that goes the full 12 with all 3w diodes AND also uses that tech that makes its so only 1 LED can go out at a time (GLH also only one I know that has a 5 year warranty). If your space is 3x3 or less you could get away with one 180w and not need any supplemental lighting (especially if you went SCROG). I recommend people to go GLH if they can afford it, or 3w diode blackstar units like the '240' or the new '500' (really 140 and 270ish,)
