Which is better?

Im new here but i have read and read to find which is better...lights that are horizontal with reflector or vertical w/o. I know that horizontal will grow nice dense buds toward the top..but if you have a thick canopy the lower buds will be light and fluffy bc of the lack of light. So imo the only option is to buy a light or lights for the lower branches. But after seeing vertical grows on here, i see you know longer need the bottom lights. Now my question is which is better as far as yield and light to plant ratio?

if using clones and keeping short then i would go for vertical so you pack out 1 fat cola

i just go with horizontall and keep the plants under 2 foot so the light gets to the lower ones any way

I know yeilds can vary depending on many different factors but what is the most idealistic amont of plants under a 600 hps horizontally.

For ppl that have went vertical can you tell me how the yields were and what lights were used....
