Does anyone know the ideal DLI for vegging cannabis plants?
I use royal blue from stevesleds and I use a mean well lpc-60-1050. This driver can drive 12-15 less at constant current of 1050 mA. PeaceIf I were interested in experimenting along the line of Vegaswinner's idea what would be the most cost effective/efficient royal blue driven by a Meanwell LPC 20-350 that I have going spare. All suggestion welcome and appreciated.
Cheers,
Will
nice id buy one of those loaded up w/ 660sRegarding reds -- I've been wanting to try 4000K or 5000K white cob + 660nm reds for awhile. I have some 4000K cobs (and 4000K samsung hard strips) and I just ordered some osram ssl 150 660nm (2t bin) from my favorite vendor in China (Merry Wu). It is the low end BIN, but they are only $.71 each. I'm getting some 20mm PCB stars to use with my hard strips in a tote setup, but she's also making me a 30-led "COB" style light with all 660s using one of these PCBs:

looking forward to testing the white/red setup.
Hello,...need buy 1000 leds for same bin... ...para asegurar el bin elegido en todos los leds comprados... ...a full reel...wow
...on oslons seems to me its the same old story...for top bins... only buying full reels of led...
...seems to me the same for top bins on cree photoreds... or other brands...
...no doubt... ou yeahhh...
...pd... i know we got some good bins on small numbers on some sites too...maybe not the top bins... but near bins too...
Saludos

thanks dude. I appreciate that more than you know. I enjoy gardening and the science behind it, as well. I used to eat the paste too. I was never a macaroni fan though. I love my Royal blue's they appear like a black light in range. too cool. peaceCool VW,
I just ordered some Cree XM-L2 U2 10W 6000-6500K and I have some royal blues around here somewhere. I get all giddy when a new idea sparks a new project.
I never understood why my colleagues in preschool ate the paste, I mean sure it has an interesting flavor and tantalizing texture but that macaroni needed a catalyst to become art.
I quickly came to understand even in the dawn of my existence that resources are finite. Without the paste our creativity was stifled. When the teacher observed my glutinous cohorts and their crusty rimmed mouths she restricted access to a valuable resource.
Forward to the present watts are the paste now and my garden the macaroni. Your idea has inspired me to squirrel away a little more paste and for that you have my gratitude.
Cheers,
Will

Yes I go by AvidLerner on other sites. I guess I wanted change. An old user name being recycled. Glad to hear colors working for you too. Peace@Will Thayer I think you will find the XML2 and 450nm combo to be highly effective! especially early on in veg.
@VegasWinner (are you avidlearner on other forums?) I have been reading your posts about 450nm monos and tried running them at 2-5% on a pwm dimmer to extend my photoperiod while dimming the high dissipation leds. I am saving KWH & I am having some really great results from some freshly popped seeds. namely:
-reduced stem elongation
-vibrant waxy looking cotyledons
-first leaf sets stacking nicely.
-seedling appear to be growing slower than I am used to, but judging from the holes in the bottom of their containers. most of their energy is going towards roots. more so with the enhanced blues. #auxins
Is it one long string? Or multiple parallel ones? How hard do you plan to run it? And which bin is it?30x osram ssl 150 660nm "cob" came in and she's a beauty. Assuming a 4000K white COB and these LEDs are running the same efficiency (let's say 50%), Should I try a run with it 1:1 of White:HyperRed? Some other ratio?
It's 10s3p, planning on running it @ about 1A (so 350ma to the LED). Bin is 2T (lowest bin I believe), so it's probably more like 40% efficient. Total cost was only about $25 or so shipped. Is it one long string? Or multiple parallel ones? How hard do you plan to run it? And which bin is it?
I've got a far red pontoon for lights out. I haven't run with FR during entire lights-on except for a test of a 'full spectrum' vanq cob -- pink phosphor coated kind -- that one seemed to stretch a lot but I need to test again sometime.I use Deep Red IR and Far Red. each has value. peace
