That's what I bought, a Panasonic plasma set. hehe I would have bought a Pioneer Elite, but the diff between the Panasonic's 2k price and the 5K the Elite costs was just to much. And I second the AVS forums, I started going there a decade ago when I started getting into home theater

Vizio isn't a Walmart brand. We just carry them there. We also sell LG, Sony, Panasonic, and all the other big name brands. Vizio just makes a quality product at a reasonable price. Seriously, take a look. You might end up saving some money.

When Pioneer dropped the Elite line, the Best Buys with a Magnolia were selling them for more than 50% off. It was right about the time I was needing to buy a new set and almost got one of those but missed out.

Do the LED/LCD screens still look just as nice when the contrast is turned down? In the stores they only seem to show demo movies such as 'Ice-Age' etc... which is kinda computerised cartoons that do look exceptional and really class! But I wonder how they perform on more realistic real-life pictures in Blue-Ray ?? Do the pics of peoples faces show true believable colours or are they some-what to colourful ??

The contrast is set to roughly 90 on each of the different picture settings and when i turn it down it just fades the picture to black. As far as the colours and realism of picture are concerned, for the money the D630 samsung looks great. Some of the picture settings look better than others depending on what your watching but the colours in all of the settings look realistic. The one thing i have noticed is the auto motion plus feature samsung has on there tv's makes the picture look unrealistic in alot of situations. This feature speeds up the refresh rate which may be good for sports but watching a movie or a sitcom with this feature looks ridiculous in my opinion. I watch alot of sports but so far i've just kept the feature off and havent noticed motion blur. The one i bought was only $699 so i wasn't expecting a top of the line tv but for the money its been great.
