I wanna buy a fan for my room (850 Cubic Feet) to create Negative pressure. I will be ducting to the only window there is in the room; which means, the fan will be near the window, and I live in a quite neighbourhood . I want a good pull, as I will be cooling 2x 1000W hoods and 1x 250W hood. Planning to have 2 tents. One fan at the window, carbon filter between the fan and the first 1000W (which will be in flower room). So what are the options as I know fuck all about fans. Is it inline fans I am looking for, or high velocity?.....

Thanks everyone.

You can build a box around the fan and suspend it with bungee cords there is a how to in the do it your self section. I have done this I live in a small apartment and my grow room shares a wall with the neighbor so sound is my biggest issues but this cut the sound over half and once I put my filter on and switched to insulated ducting you could barley hear anything.

Jeez man, thanks. Awesome advise. Is inline fan strong enough btw? Or is there anything stronger?

someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe an inline fan will be your best bet. I would go 8'' its always better to have more and control it with a speed controller then have to buy a larger fan after you find out you need more air flow. especially running over 2K.

I even saw someone put an inline fan inside a larger 18+ gal. rubbermaid tote and use insulation to control sound.

this is the fan you need bro. for that big room . http://www.harborfreight.com/24-inch-high-velocity-shop-fan-93532.html this is a very good fan for the price compare it up too 500 dollar fans, with the cfm its a super good fan I have 3 of theses it moves a lot of air perfect to have the positive air pressure. every fan has some noise. because of the blades. the noise is average. highly rec you get this fan ! has a high and low. I don't run ac. when cash is low I run this to cool the flower room . 12 600 watt bulbs in one of the rooms it cools it. yes I have air cooled hoods . but we all know that's not enough .

I have a problem with 8" because Cooled Reflectors flanges usually only come on 4" or 6" ...
