If your usin duct work anywhere on the exaust side, you can use a inline duct of the same size. They`re pretty cheap. Also they work pretty good.Good Luck on You Grow.Stay Happy,

I think you need something like a inline duct fan on the intake and exaust.Intake on the bottom of cab and exaust out of the top.Good Luck on Your Grow.....Stay Happy,Healthy, and High !!

Hi ya :)

Are you sticking with the CLF for the full grow cycle or upping it to a HPS ?

Here is what i would do .... 4 inch fan up in the loft connected to a dimmer switch in your room ... then duct down from the fan to your grow box ... and ether put a 4 inch filter inside the box at the top or mount it outside on top and duct into the box .... then you can suck the air out thru the filter , Put a passive intake vent at the bottom of your box to just suck in cool air from floor hight... connect some ducting to it and you can find a cool spot in the room to suck form .. or place the end near a window to suck cool air in :)
:)

Home Hydro Are Doing A Offer on 4" fans right now ... £50 http://www.homehydro.co.uk/

4" filter £24

And 10 meters of 4" ducting for £7.99
http://www.homehydro.co.uk/index.php/environmental-control/venilation/ducting-clamps/aluminium-ducting.html

You can get a dimmer switch from Wilkos for £3 and your all sorted :)

Hi ya :)

If you allready have the ducting your half way there :)

The dimmer switch is just a cheaper alternative to a fan speed controller ( normaly about £30 ) and easy to rig up .

Might get a few people jumping in saying its not safe or it may harm your fan ... or it gives off a humming sound when it's turned down .. But i can asure you ... it works well and people have been using this alternative for years without any problems .

The choice is yours :)

Connect 3 core flex to your fan and run the wire to the plug socket ....Don't plug it in :)

Get your Wilko dimmer , Open it up and and pop two holes in the box ..one at the top ..one at the bottom ... feed the wire thru the holes , Slide the box up the wire to where you want the dimmer on the wall , Fix the box to the wall .... add a plug to the end of the wire .

Pull a bit of a loop of wire out of the box ( about 6 " ) Get a stanley knife and GENTLY cut round the wire cover ..just enough to cut the plastic cover but NOT the wire insde .... then move down a few inches and do the same ... strip off the plastic covering to show the 3 wires ... Cut the red one in the middle and trim off the tips .

Now with the dimmer plate it has two screw terminal connectors in it ( top and bottom ) pop the bottom red wire into the bottom terminal and the top red wire into the top terminal and tighten them up , Pop the face plate on to the box with the screws ... make sure its switched off ....Plug in ... and turn it on :)

You WILL hear a slight humm from the fan on lower setting ...but its not an issue ( i await all the sparkys jumping in here saying its bad ...I don't care ...it works for me and has worked for 1000's of others for years with no problem )

I don't mess around with electrics and try and advise others not to ... but this is a tryed and tested method that i feel safe to use myself !

Good idea to clip the wire to the wall to save it getting ragged about :)

Hope that helps :)

i would just get a bathroom duct fan they are not that loud and will have 5x the volume pull of the pc out fan ur using. then just install in line in your ducting. the other option in a bit harder and includes more parts but if you want to you can make a water/air processor (think of a bong) one duct from closet to fish tank filled with water and lined with differing size screens and one duct out and same fan after fish tank (granted requires you to charge water every cpl. weeks) but will really help with smell if really bad and your not looking to set up an air scrubber. the reason i didnt say in line fan is your post also mentioned noise lvl. concerns and my vortex inline fans are loud as shit but i dont care with my situation about the lvl. of sound since i dont hear it in the rest of the house and the peps. next to us cant either so its all good. but they do make mufflers for them there about 50bucks U.S. i hear they work good but have not seen one in use.

Looks a bit complicated ... but its easy man , All that other wireing is for lights and fans in my room but connecting up the dimmer is a doddle really :)...Hardest part is jumping up and down from the loft :P.

Yeah you can have it on as much as you like , If you have it swiched on during lights off ... keep an eye on your temps in your box ... you dont want it going down to much by sucking cool air in at night ... Less than 21 C (70 F) is too cold for good growth.

what about them tt inline fans you get on ebay as well sloshedcookie they are 2 speed fans check them out they have a few things going for them like low wattage and sound levels.

yeah them there that 1 is rated 187 on full speed work it out for yourself your grow room dimensions and see if its rated to move enough air 2 to 3 times a minute.

that 100mm wont move as much air remember as the other 100mm fans but the other 1s use 61 watts and that uses 28 watts the 125mm is roughly the same wattage think that would be ideal for you.
