Which AN additives are worth buying?

Currently a few weeks into flower in my first hydro run using dwc and AN sensi grow and bloom with no other additives other than h2o2 for sterile res and extra oxygenation. I want to try and use the minimum nutes possible and started with just the base to see what happens. So far the plants are generally healthy, with the exception being some calcium and mag deficiencies on a few of the leaves. Mostly cal problems. What should I get to add to my grow? Keep in mind i can't use my botanicare cal mag because it messes with the pH perfect nutes. Also any PK boosters from AN worth getting?

I am in the late stage of budding my first grow in almost 20 years. I am also Advanced Nutrients, and have separated several plants using the Grow, Bloom & Micro, and another 2 using Sensi Grow & Bloom. I invested in 2 of the Hobbyist Bundles which has I believe everything you need at a reasonable price. Some people will agree, some will disagree, however I feel if you want to go a step further, grab the Hobbyist bundle.

One thing I have found, the plants seem to respond better to the pH Perfect Grow, Bloom & Micro than the Sensi range.

I know it's not AN but I use Great White Mycorrhizae/Beneficial Bacteria it's great to boost your roots during veg and the first two weeks of flowering like Voodoo Juice and Piranha but a lot less money...I also use it with Bud Candy and Sensizym during flowering but if I could only choose one it would be Bud Candy

First of all, their claim that you can't use cal-mag because it would mess with their "perfect pH" technology sounds like a load of bullshit as they use the same ingredients as found in cal-mag.

Second, get calcium nitrate to correct calcium deficiencies in hydro and magnesium sulfate to correct magnesium deficiencies..

Third, mono potassium phosphate is the cheapest and best PK booster you're gonna find and is naturally a pH buffer, so no, there are no PK boosters from AN worth getting.

I actually thought the same thing and when I started my grow I used cal mag with the sensi grow pH perfect. My pH would drop from 5.7 to 4.5 within 24 hours. Called the rep after my pH problems and they said it was the cal mag. When I dropped my cal mag, my pH stayed stable ever since. Not sure if it was a different reason for my pH drop or if it was the cal mag. I may try getting some Epsom salt and calcium nitrate and adding it manually. Any tips on amounts per gallon in dwc?

Yeah, 1.5g per gallon of magnesium sulfate provides all of my magnesium in my current mix, so I'd say 0.3g-0.6g per gallon to fix a magnesium deficiency.

About 2.5g per gallon of calcium nitrate provides all my calcium in my current mix as well, so I'd try adding about 0.5g-1.0g per gallon to correct a deficiency.

If adding cal-mag causes the pH to drop overnight like that, it could be that you have enough calcium in the mix already and the abundance is causing solid precipitants to form. Are you sure you have calcium deficiency?

entire AN lineup is just too expensive. Some of the additives can be replaced with just as good stuff but cheaper from other places.
The 2 part bases (sensi grow and sensi bloom), big bud , bud candy and b52 bring great results.

I have always used Bud Blood once flowering is initiated and it gets the ball rolling. Also, as far as AN additives are concerned I use most at 1/2-2/3 strength with no difference. Bud Candy, Big bud, silica, sensizym, Carbo-load, Kushie kush are all great products but the cost is an issue. That is why during veg I use Dyna-Gro, bennies, and cal mag only (keep it cheap). In my experience, the AN line can be used differently than instructed and should to avoid wasting any extra money. In the 1st week of flowering I don't use any additives except silica, bud blood, and cal-mag. In week 2, I introduce additives at 1/2 strength and depending on my budget and objectives I choose which ones. A lot of them are good when it comes to quality meds but don't increase yield and vice-versa...

Come on folks wake up!!! Any company that spends as much on fancy marketing as AN is feeding you a line of shit. They spend a lot of money to make you believe that their product is worth the robbery prices they charge.
