Which air pump should I buy?

I have 10 5 gal buckets, one 18gal and one 12gal Rubbermaid roughneck totes.

I'm thinking I will need to run 14 airlines. Should I buy 4 GH Dual Diaphragm Air Pumps or 1 PondMaster Deep Water Air Pump with air diffusers.

GH Dual Diaphragm Air Pump

PondMaster Deep Water Air Pump

The GH has four outlets at 3psi and the PondMaster has 12 port at 5.8psi, 14 port at 5.66psi or a 33 port at 6.53 psi.

I dont know anything about the pondmaster but I can vouch for the GH pumps. I have 2 running in my room. One in veg takes care of 4 mothers and 5 bubblers (10 plants) while the other takes care of 16 5 gallon buckets in my flower. They are pretty quiet and built to last. Havent had any problems with them so far.

Caregiver: How do you setup the GH to provide air to 16 buckets? I'm knew at this. I just see 4 outputs so I assumed it only went to four air stones. Any pictures?

no, screw the gh air pump. I am sad at them for putting out such an inferior pump for such a wack price. It only does 22 L of air and it only uses 8 WATTS! WTF that is so small and for 80 bucks? The industrial pump comerical air three by ecoplus puts out 60 L and 35 watts. for 68 bucks!

The rule is one watt a gallon and you are happily at max. each five gallon with two airstones and you got enough for seven buckets. A few cheap 10 watt and 5 watt pumps could finish you up. But, forget that I think that you easily power 10 buckets with the 35 watt as a watt a gallon is a little overkill. .75 or so would be ok. Just remember to use at least two airstones or those huge disc or specialist expensive stones per bucket.

I dont have any pix right now. I use gang vavles and T valves. The GH pump is rated at 320 gph so splitting it up to 16 is 20 gph each which is not bad since I only have 1 or 2 plants in each bubbler. I will try to get some pix up in the next couple days.

The pump goes for $54 which is resonable to me. I got tired of buying a new pump for 1 or 2 buckets. :roll:

more watts means more life, at least with small appliances. rep dawg.....rep....

So it won't be a problem running this to 10-5gal buckets with 2-6" airstone for each?

Do you use a dripper to split the air like this guy LINK (go half way down the page)?

I read a description of the Commercial Air 3 on amazon and says this can be used with up to a 22 port divider. So, I'm assuming I can hook it up to a dripper manifold and connect it to my 10-5gal buckets with 2-6"air stone each, 1-10gal tote with 2-12"air stone, and 1-18gal tote with 2-12" air stones.

So that will be for 24 air stones total which comes out to be 1.46 watts for each air stone.

no, if it is 35 watts then you are fine. Just use those plastic tees to spit your airlines and also the pump comes with a metal manifold with I think 6 connections. Yu run air off that. I have one of these that is 20 watts. I run five buckets. Make sure that is 35 watts tho. Everytime I click on a 35 watt on ebay it says 20 watts! weird. But these pumps are hella nice and I love mine. Real power. Boiling buckets. Two six in airstones sounds good. Maybe even cut it to one and be fine. My only prob is the roots grow around teh airstones! Lol. Just check once and a while.

I have a similar pump powering 5" disc's in six, 5gal buckets. Works great.

I just bought the eco plus 35 watt pump it runs way to hot to the point where it heats up your res quite a bit hopefully bought a chiller and it's so loud that I can hear it across my street with my window open I couldn't even sleep with that crappy pump running I'd go with the gh pump even if u got to buy two I just got one and it's soooooo quiet I can't even hear it works real good to
