Where to put my light?

hi guys, my mate is making me a grow box cause he is a carpenter and get get all the material and everything for free but there is one thing i dont know how to do, once i get this box how do i fit a light inside it? i mean am i supposed to fit one inside like i think or am i wrong? does it have to be a particular kind of light for only one or 2 plants or can i pull it off with a regular bulb, any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Cheap way is CFLs. Lots and lots of CFLs. You want about 7,000 lumens per sq foot of space. Place light at the top and sides once your plants begins to grow. Better, more expensive, alternative is to invest in a HPS light. Cheapest is around $125 but you get much bigger buds. You will also need a fan to keep things cool.

for the vegging you start with cheap and easy to get 21-40something Watts CFLs, those have several advantages for you besides that tehy are cheap. buy cool ones be the way, 6000-6500K light temp.
those fit into standard E27 sockets, those go for 1-4bucks a piece, do not produce much heat and have almost the punch in lumen's as an MH bulb would buy you but for fraction of the cost.

keep those cfls close, an inch over the tips of the plant or you may get some bad stretching and those plants will outgrow your box in no time or even worth just die on you!:-?

since cfls dont put out alot of lumens u will get more out of them if there placed all around the plant as opposed to just on top of them.

leaf... i'm talking about veg a few plants in a box, not flowering a sea of green here, vegging 1ft plants... sure a bit extra never harms, but this is the low cost/low hassle set up to start vegging with. every single light he puts up in there makes it more complicated for him to get the wiring done in a safe manner, spend a minute on this maybe? the guy is not much of a handyman since is friend had to build him the box.

first of all to do a sog grow with cfls u would have to be suicidal. and this shit is not complicated, with some research this guy could answer all his questions, lol i gave him good advice and i stand by it.

Well, i only want to grow one plant to start with and then maybe get a couple more on the go after ive succeeded with it so i dont want to be going as big as SOG, but you havnt actually answered my question, how do i actually get the bulb fitted?
