where to light?

i have 2 of 5 remaining plants, i screwed up in the beginning of my first grow ever, now i have a differential in height of my plants, im in veg right now, 400W metal halides, 9 inches atop one plant, 18 over the other, should i lower? or will i just burn up my bigger plant? also any advice on trimming would be helpful at this point.

Your best bet would be to raise the shorter ones up. As far as trimming, unless there's a reason for you to do it you should leave them alone.

i didnt even think about just raising them, anyways in terms of trimming how do i know if i should? im trying to find my camera cord to get some pics on here but right now the leaves are not spaced out by much so i dont know if the bottom ones are getting enough light

Even if they aren't getting enough light, they still get some. They also have nutrients in them that the plant can use. I'm new at this too, so take this for what you want. I have been leaving mine on till they are ready to fall off by them selfs.
