Where to from here

Hey there,
I’ve got a bit of a grow going on and looking for some advice on what to do next.
The background info is
2x autos both northern lights growing in coco under a LED. Grow is going pretty well so far they are just stretching out now and starting to come into budding. My grow space is quite small and generally I just grow 1 plant in there and it does me well but this time I have tried my luck with 2 and it’s pretty tight. I topped them early on and they have both come up pretty even with lots of potential bud sites. They are both getting super bushy now though and minimal light is getting through the canopy. My question is at this point of early budding in a limited space would you trim off some of those fan leaves, or trim off the lower growth so the plants concentrate on the upper stuff. Just looking for some general advice on what people think would be the best plan from here on to maximise the yield. I generally do alright off of 1 plant but have never been in this scenario with 2 and they are really bushy. Any advice appreciated! Pics attached
Cheers

I can see why you’re concerned. No light penetration and your buds are very much underway.
I don’t know if it’s too late to defoliate or trim/ bend/train etc BUT
what you do have going for you is a very good side-by-side experiment opportunity -
I would split it into one side trimmed all the way up to the canopy -leaving tops only, and the other half maybe trimmed a bit less.
see what happens.
I’m only concerned about how far along into flowering you are though. I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I would guess there’s a chance that a lot of cutting down of bud sites this far into flowering might shock the plants but really that’s just something to think about and I could be totally wrong.

Now I looked again and I think you’re ok to trim. Buds have a long way to go. I would still do a comparison experiment though.
PS what’s that string? Have you actually got any trellis working or netting in there?
They look like they could have enjoyed a bit of tying down but you’re right; you have limited space

I would chop off 1/3 of the undergrowth working up. I personally don't like trimming larf so I typically lollipop my plants and don't have to deal with it. Also helps with below canopy air flow.

Yeah there is no spare space so no benefit in tying down as there’s no space to tie into. I think I’ll trim one of them on the undergrowth and see the end results between the 2
