Hi prince,
Sounds like a fun project. Very humid, warm and sunny so your plants should do great. I think you're off to a good start. Is it ultimately going to be in a large pot...or in the ground?

Put Her in a predug hole with a good mix.Gonna be needing to light her up so ya need to get ready. My best and tallest would drink 3 times every 24 hours. Rig up a drip system...

If your attempting 12ft you'll need at least a 15 gal hole in the ground, 6 drippers.. Do some research. Wish Ya could have known Subcool. May his badassness live on.

I've never grown outside in a pot...how does that work? You have to protect it from the rain? It's too big a pot to be moved easily...so I say just dig a hole. Let mother nature control things for you.

If you have bandwidth, look up mendo dope on youtube. They do a very detailed series of how-to's for very large trees. They also use chicken manure in their "lasagna".

I was surprised to hear that since their are countless warnings on how much N it contains, but I guess in proportion it's ok.

Good luck!

Sam,
Let me describe how that works. Ca is carried by the plants fluid uptake. A common situation that occurs might be a plant is in a hot room transpiring like crazy...and the grower dumps a really strong feed. The food is sucked with the water straight to the top of the plant where it burns.

Your situation in hydro is a little different. Your plants are exposed to nutrients continuously...so at less risk for that phenomena.

Don't try and tie it all together into one nice little package. It's messy. Your op is really no different then a DWC where the roots are always in. It's a roots in system...they never give such low doses. I just can't figure out why you are.

And how big a hole to dig...I'll tell you this...at some point, you're going to have to engage your brain and make a few decisions by yourself. Just dig till you get tired.
