Where is the best place for a new medical patient to move to in Co.?

It is just how it sounds.. I am a disabled grandfather that is going thru chronic pain from cervical and lower bulging disk with D.D.D and several other issue's. What i am looking for is a place where i can either produce my own meds or be able to purchase what i need without going thru the political bullshit to find a dealer every time i need to get some relief from pain.. My current dr's have and have had me doped up on narcotics and now my girl is hooked on them. so i need to get the fuck away from the current situation.. Where are some of the better area's to move to without being directly in the path of everyone who is moving 5 times faster then me (not close to the city)?? I get a guaranteed check every month and am still very handy but just can't get around like i used too. I really wanted to go to AK but money wise it's just not doable.. I have a great deal of experience in growing inside and out.. Any RIU members with the knowledge and info on where to look and any kinda help would be awesome..

Look at the western slope of Colorado, delta county has low prices and mild weather by Colorado standards. Any of the surroundings counties are also nice. The front range has become expensive and crowded imo.

hey thanks for that info.. good to know there are still a few good ppl willing to give input to needy ppl.. i am not trying to move there and grow acres of weed ,just need to be able to get what i need without going to jail for a plant that relieves me more then the narcotics they have been pushing for 10 years now.. thanks again..

Any large cities or high mountain towns are going to be expensive for someone on a fixed income.

I'm not familiar with the western slope.

As far as the front range goes living cost goes down the further south you go. Denver is super expensive, Colorado springs a bit cheaper, and pueblo cheaper than Cs.

Eastern Co land and mobile homes can be found cheap but once you get on the plains the wind is crazy and you are no where near the mountains.

Check in to the Canon city, or Florence areas. They are about as cheap as you will find in Colorado and convenient to pueblo and Colorado springs. Canon is a retirement town with a population of around 10k. Weather here is mild. Plenty of dispensaries around, though nothing like Denver.

You can grow your own here anywhere with a med card or just grow rec plants. If you land anywhere near me just let me know if you need beans or cuts to get started. Good luck, and enjoy our amazing state.

A friend with weed is a friend indeed .. thanks for that info. will deff. need a new start up. i have a few beans and some nice strains already gorilla growin but nothing so take across country with me so thanks again .. but will deff. be bringing my grow equipment with me. have any good sites to look for places to rent like craigslist or something of that nature?

As far as sites to find places craigslist is a good bet for rentals and lower cost place. Other than that just the standards like apartments.com, realtor.com, and so on. Each local community will normally have a newspaper with some classifieds but not much. When Craigslist became huge most people stopped posting in newspapers. After all why pay for something that is free.

thanks for the help RIU i will be in CO. by the end of july. when does the summer start turning to winter? seems fall and spring are no longer a season so i don't want to get stuck in the cold living in a truck.. lol

Might consider Fort Morgan. It's a smallish town about an hour or so east of Denver. They don't have a dispensary but there is one just down the street like a mile in Log Lane Village. It seems like a pretty quiet small town. Stinks though. They got a couple of large factories. Just for consideration. I would consider retiring there. But there are lots of other areas to consider as well.

really depends ALOT on how high (lol) you go in the state . i live at 7200 ft on the western slope near telluride. its 42* out rigtht now . but tostey in the greenhouse:)
its alot more mild in the lower areas , but not as much acess to our states true wealth . the natural beauty thats undeniable . 70% of my county is owned by the gov. so its a diffrent world over here ikn the 4 corners area...

Colorado in general has been 'discovered' by coasties with money, so all of our prices for real estate suddenly got ridiculous in just the past few months.

The front range is expensive but that's where the dispensaries and services are. Living on the western slope will be quiet, but beware that not everyone in Colorado is as pro pot as we are- and the real cranks tend to be in rural areas.

Coloradans are friendly. Wherever you set up, I'm sure there will be someone nearby willing to give you a hand!
