where did my preflowers go?

My plants have been in veg for a while. I checked above the fourth node about a week ago and had female preflowers. Today i went back and where the female preflowers were before is not a set of leaves. I am completely positive there were female preflowers there. I noticed because i top my plant about 5 days ago and i was checking the new leaf growth on my plant and just noticed they were gone. Is this normal?

Are the autoflowering? Did you force them into flower with 12/12? If they are not autos and you didn't push them into flower, then it was just new growth between the nodes. Sorry

maby they were the pre set of leaves, they look kind of like female preflowers, but they dont have the white, they are all green, i forget what they are exactly called
