When you going to start this year

Just wondering what everyones plans on dates of starting outside are.

I think im going to start vegging my OD plants starting in end of march/ beginning of april, then put them out in the beginning of June.

I was wondering if it was possible to veg out a month indoors starting now and put them in a greenhouse outside in the beginning of april .... but i figured the light at that point might not be right.

Any info would be appreciated.

usually, i have them planted around by 4/20. I just make sure the last frost has gone by & the soil has had a chance to warm up a bit.

Midwestgrower here and just started my seeds gonna let em veg for a month or two get em to be monsters then put them out BEFORE mothers day I dont know why ive just heard if you want good yeild put out b4 mothers day...

i was thinking about starting them indoor geting them to a foot and puting outdoors in may. i live in washington so it is cold just snowed today. Will the plant be affected going from the light and heat of my grow box? it will go from difrent light time and climite.

there will be an affect going from diff light time and climate but if you raise healthy plants it should make it through no problems Outdoor is the way to go Indoor in the winter and go crazy and grow a field in the spring/summer I love outdoor growing been doing it since ive been smoking just planted and left tho came back late october to harvest what is left this year im going big and takin good care of them im gonna be growing green poison and white domina im hopin to pull at least a couple zips off of each if I veg em long enough inside and let em get huge hopefully when I stick em out side and flowering time comes around they fill out and grow into TREES yo

The plants that will be growing outdoors are already vegging. Some were sprouted from seed going to pop a few more seeds tonight after baseball practice. I have a couple of clones that should be about two to three feet by the time they go in the ground. Hopefully I will find some keepers and clone them for future use in the greenhouse. dirrtyd

Im in NorCal and I never plant before like the May. Usually I procure my mother plants around March, chop clones in April, and plant them babies in May or even June is fine. This year I kept mother plants going all Winter so I could sell clones and keep some of my good genetics. I already have about a half dozen each of Cheese, Afwreck and Pineapple for mother plants. Hopefully I can get about 200 clones off em in the next couple months. Ill sell some of 'em, keep some as mothers, and until May or June, start vegging the rest for use this Summer

Remember transplanting out to early can make em flower, especialy clones.....

when you move them from inside to outside put them in a shady spot for a few days to a week before putting them in full sun.

mine are already out. I live where its nice and warm, its already in the 80s.

I plan to start germinating seeds in the next few weeks. Once they're established it's into the greenhouse bad weather or not! This will be my second LST grow and I'm coming back with soooo much more knowledge than the first time around-- which was very successful. I can't wait for the weather to feel more like spring. I had that happen one time when I put em out in march as smaller babies, maybe 12 inches or so, trying to avoid that

Im in norcal as well, no snow really where im at and its starting to warm up a bit.

I going to give LST a go this time around.

They are predicting 1" of snow for The City & most of Norcal on Friday. Might be a bit early to put out in Norcal, unless you have a greenhouse.

Last year I went by the calendar. In my area they say 3rd week in May so there is more sun than dark and the plants will continue to veg and will not bud. However I got burned by not paying attention to the weather. Make sure all chance of frost has passed and the weather forcast calls for mostly clear skies for about a week after you plant. Last year my plants suffered from frost and several that I put out on the optimum date triggered and never vegged like they should. I only realized about 20% of my potential last year as a result.

I have a slough of plants to put out this year. I got 1 out now as a test to see if it will produce as good when put out early as the others being put out in March. If you put a plant into bloom way to early can you reverse it and save it?

As soon as weather permits. I was going to start March 1st, but the weatherman says it'll be cold until the 10th at least.

Right about now. I like to get a few extra weeks of veging in.. because I wanna top, train, and twist the plant as much as possible..by the time im chopping males it wont matter because all the females are pretty hefty by then. It makes up for lost weight. 4/20 is a good "safe date", but any where from a few weeks to a few days wont hurt.

as SCARHOLE noted above be careful when you put your plants (seeds or clones) out because of the natural hours of light at that given time of year. In the past I have started seeds or clones early indoors, (both 24 hrs light and 18 hrs light), in hopes that putting them out in early april would give them a head start. All this did was cause them to go into flowering. In early April the # of hours of light where I live is still close to 12/12 . This really caused for messed up plants due to the fact that the hours of light were getting longer from that point on outside. It took a very long time for the plants to get back to vegging, causing a loss of all the head start I thought I would have.
