When would you flip these girls?

I have 4 photoperiods surrounded by autos to just fill in whatever space. The photos in the middle are in 5gallon pots , super soil. Under a Mars hydro Fc-e3000 and Maxisun PB1500. I can raise the lights about 5 more inches. Any personal opinions on when you guys would flip? Lights in the picture are 25 inches away. I was seeing how high I could get it. Had about those 5 more inches I could squeeze. First time doing photos and I've seen some crazy flower stretches. Cheers.

The flower stretch depends on the genetics. My stretchiest does like 20" and my shortest does like 12".

So you'll be running your autos on 12/12?
Why not just run all photos I don't get it
These are the only seeds that made it out of the photo ones. I have tons of autos I'll never even use so why not just toss some in to help fill in the space? What's the point of your comment even? I don't get it? I popped 3 Meat Pie and 3 Blueberry. 4 made it. Why not toss some autos in that I'll literally probably never even use?

If you keep training them laterally you will get shorter stretch has been my experience. That being said even if you are surprised you can supercrop them. Flip the photos when you want to.

Have you considered lipping them when the auto's flip? It would be interesting to see how that works out. Tossing in just to fill space could come back and bite you if one or more plants starts to take up to much room. That or you have your work cut out training them. Where do you dry after harvest? cause these will be finishing at different times you won't be able to dry in the same tent as some plants will still be finishing up. Overall you have a good problem, not bad.

Nice thank you for actually contributing and giving some personal insight. I will definitely take your comment into consideration.
Here you can see the post-stretch on three different strains in a 4x8, the shortest in the foreground and the tallest in the back. They were all cut from moms at the same time, same nutes, trimmed to be same height at flip to 12/12. There are 3 lights in the tent, so I can adjust heights on different lights accordingly.

I am also curious how this will work with the space given lol I was just going to try and pack the 4x4 as much as possible. I was thinking another 14ish days (which will put the autos all around 28ish days) and then I would see how big the autos are then. I have another tent on standbye. I just didnt see any harm in using up all the space I can with some auto seeds that I would have never popped otherwise

I'm curious to know why you don't use the auto's? I accidentally bought two packs of auto seeds and haven't decided what to do with them yet. I don't know, much about autos except they do their own thing. Don't know if I can force them to flip.

Just run the veg longer … most will shape / LST / crop a photo to structure it prior to flip.
That way all plants benefit.…… flipping autos is a waste of space since it kneecaps them. So why not veg the photos for a FULL PLANT regardless of trying to fill space ?

Photos I usually flip around 6-8 weeks of veg , depending what I am looking to accomplish.
Autos can use that time to also get whatever growth you can BEFORE flipping the photos.

If you are hard set in running 12/12 times …. Run a tent of SOG style plants ( pull clones / grow them out under 12/12 )

I'm cool with that, I think the best answer you got was to watch the height of your plant and flip when it gets 1/3 to 1/2 the height of the space between the plant and light. Good Luck and happy days
