When to stick seedling onto bubbler?

Hey so here's a couple seedlings from my grow journal... when do I stick em into the bubblers? Today is day 4, at 9 PM will be 96 hours since planting. They broke ground yesterday.

I just got my full set of technaflora starter kit nutrients, a PPM and PH meter, so I'm ready to do anything I need.

The one leaning to the side and the one with seed attached are both almost as tall as the final picture now as well since lights on this morning... so I'll get a new picture tonight if it helps.

I'm using Plant!t clay pellets in DWC buckets... the peat plug I think I'll just cut the bottom open to make sure roots don't get caught and plop em over about two layers of hydroton and fill up around it, wait to top off until the stem is bigger.

I could probably do it whenever so I could utlra dilute some thrive alive B1 or something yeah?

When mine get that size I put them in the buckets. I use rockwool cubes and a 6 inch net pot per plant. I put a good layer of hydroton in the net pot then set the rockwool cube with germinated plant on top of the base layer. I then fill in around the cube with hydroton until flush with the top of the cube. As the plant grows I gradually add hydroton until it becomes flush with the top of the net pot. The main point here is to keep light seepage through the hydroton out of the bucket. I then fill my bucket with a weak nute solution until it is approximately just below where I estimate the bottom of the rockwool cube to be in the netpot. I keep the water level there until I see roots then gradually lower the water level to just below the net cup. I do soak my hydroton a few days prior in PH'd water so I don't have any PH issues. This stage is also when I start my normal light cycle but really backed off until I get a feeling the plant is adjusting. As the roots grow and the top stays looking healthy I gradual lower my LED light. Properly PH'd very weak nutes are your friend or you will burn the plant. I use Fox Farms and use roughly 15 to 33% of what's recommended throughout the entire growth cycle.

Word I feel like I can see a couple roots about 2/3 the way down the peat moss through the netting.

Anybody use peat and cut the netting off vs leave it on and know the difference/any reason to do either?

Time to start rinsing rocks...

ya, sticking seeds to germ or sprout in peat has a high success rate. i used to do that to start the plant and get the roots started, then when it got long, i washed off the dirt, wrap rockwool in the middle and threw it in the hydro. u can start seeds in rockwool but if the rockwool is dirty and doesnt have neutral ph, the seed dies

Yeah dude I love the peat pellets... But don't know if the rules are same since I'm doing hydro. When do I stick these babies in the bubbler? Today their first true set are about as big as the seed leaves so they're quickly overtaking. Even the snow white which was a day behind is catching up. Got 4x26w in there now and they're super down close, like 4-6" Will post a pic shortly but the biggest one in the middle is now almost 2" instead of 1.25".

See tips of roots out the sides of the peat but just wondering how long it'll be until they come out the bottom.

Is that what I'm waiting for?

You should be waiting for a good deal of roots out the bottom. I'm sure you could transplant now if you wanted, but plant low so the bubble spray will get wicked up through the medium to your starter plug. I usually plant 1/2inch to inch off bottom and get roots hitting res in as little as 48hrs.

Cool i just fed them with some low ppm nutes (220ppm, my tap is 95ppm) so I'll just watch them the next couple days see if roots are popping out. The big guy has one white one peeking out the bottom, the other two have a couple on the sides.

Just backed the lights off a few inches too, they're at about 6" now instead of 3-4", the temps were hitting 85F in there, my vent fan isn't here, just have my floor fan on the ground blowing up across the tent to make circulation, trying to get it down to 78-80 for now, leaving the tent cracked during daylight too.

Feeding those poor little things nutes at this point will do nothing good. They have there own stored food source and you want to make them grow roots by looking for food

Cool I'll just do water from here out until they're into the buckets. It said to soak the peat in Thrive alive which I didnt cause I didnt have it at the time so I figured a little bit wouldn't hurt (it was 70ppm) but I think more than anything it's a lack of patience to see the suckers grow bongsmilie
