When to start counting flowering weeks

I have two gg4 plants from bagseed that seem to be doing good but I have a question about when to start counting flowering weeks. I thought it's when you switch over to 12/12 but also getting told it's about 10-14 days after the switch. If that's the case my girls are not 7 weeks into flowering it's more like 5 weeks. Also if that's the case why are my trichs starting to cloud up so early. I will post a pic as soon as I figure out how to. Really hoping they are at week 7 because they are smelling up my house and the sooner I can harvest the better but don't want to mess up all my hard work I put into this grow.

I guess everyone has their own opinion on this. The day I put them in flower is day 1 for me. A week later they are starting wk1 of flower.

once you switch to 12/12, next day is day 1 of flowering, for me that is so! but in the end, its all about trichomes anyway.

Harvest when ripe, could be 8 weeks, could be 9, could be 10 so on.

I do this also, after the first 12 hour dark period is day 1 for the plants. Plants grown from seed that haven't grown to maturity may take a little longer to initiate flowering so take that into account if it's your situation.

always check with ur 30x glass that they are ready for harvest

When?... never. Breeders exaggerate the speed to maturity almost every time. As mentioned, its ready when its ready. I like a cheap digital microscope $40. Clamp it to a tripod for sharp pictures, and use the computer to trip the shutter so you don't shake it.

If it isn't from the flip to 12/12 GB is really a 7 week strain ha....

yeah, totally agree with you. I always give at least 4 weeks of veg-time before going 12/12.

I have multi strain perpetual grow so when I put a new plant in the bloom room I mark a calendar with the strain name. You know the kind of cheesy calendar you get free from a bank or insurance company or wherever. I count day one of flowering a week later & mark it with a flower symbol so I know that's the beginning of bloom; white pistils are emerging by this time. Typically run plants/clones vegged 8 weeks or more so they begin to flower out very fast. I mark the day under day 1 as week 1 of flowering. After nine or ten weeks most strains are ready to chop...

I count once I flip. Takes them a few days to accolade themselves...
