when to harvest???

so i know you harvest when most of the trichomes turn like red brown but i was wondering, my plants trichomes turned purple a few weeks ago and never changed colors now its getting pretty mature all the leaves died but the trichomes are like grey purple and just shrivled up not red/brown at all, does it sound ready to be picked or should i wait

I dont think you are useing the corect terminology when discribing your plant. Pistils are the white hairs that protrude out from the bud/bud sites. Trichomes are the small crystal like glands that cover the bud.(offten looked at by a loop or microscope to determine harvest) Also a pic is worth 1000 words.......you might want to give us some more info if you really want a correct answer: Like: Strain? Flowering time? Lights? soil/hydro?.....the more info the better, and the info needs to be correct.

FYI thrichomes are typicaly clear, milky or amber in color depending on what stage of flowering the plant is in.
