when to harvest my casey jones

i have lurked for a while here looking for grow tips and thought it time to share my grow and possibly get some advice as this is my first run with the c.j.

the clone came from oaksterdam and i planted late this year (june) hoping to keep her kinda small but she is over 6 ft.

she is still spittin out new white pistils in the top colas and some areas (mid plant esp.) appear to have much denser crystals.

been kinda cold last few days and she is getting dark purple. been having to tie up the stalks the colas are so f'n big and there is supposed to be a huge storm hittin in the next few days. so now i'm worried about that as well as battling caterpillars.

i started flushing last week and figure she's gettin close but maybe some of you have experience with c.j. outdoors and early/later harvests and the resulting high? would love some insight, sorry the focus sucks but enjoy the pics and any tips for harvest time are much appreciated!:peace:

wow mate i jus spunked all over my laptop, sweeet id say they pretty much there the calyxes are fully formed and u can see she lloks close, do u have a scope to look at the crystal (trichomes) best way to get a gd indication of ripeness, i def wouldnt want to lose her to mother nature either,

no scope, i need to get one just usin the smallest magnifier on my glass (the little one in the handle). gets a good look but not enough. trich's are def. gettin cloudy but i would think the new pistils should turn when she's reaaally ready? and no amber trich's yet that i can see but it is hard with that little ass magnifying glass out in the wind.

thanks for the input guys much appreciated.

here's a size comparison i took for a friend on another site. he recommended holding a cig. box so he could tell but even a beer can looks tiny next to these beasts.

ty, outdoor in just well...dirt. this area used to be all farmland, previous owners grew crops of just about everything here. its had bat guano tilled in a few times and i sometimes dumped my reservoir from inside grow in the soil outdoor when i changed nutes. (botanicare used indoor)

fwiw everything seems to grow well here, from tomatoes to artichokes garlic etc. etc.

the strain is casey jones (train wreck/thai x east coast sour d)

one of the nicest plants i have ever seen!!
i like what i read earlier on here - to watch for the pistils to recede into the bud a bit and the bud to firm up a bit.. - read here! - https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/210501-zeuss-take-harvesting.html
thank you kindly.

that just reinforces what i've been waiting for.

my confusion is all the NEW pistils. it's like a new round of calyx's and pistils are plumpin up after alot of them already receded.

also waiting to see more yellow dying fan/bud leaves.

all the new white pistils and trich development plus the obvious sativa influence lead me to believe i have a couple weeks still to go.

i am used to small bushy indica dominant grows in my limited indoor space and have a pretty good grasp on harvest time. this just happens to be quite different than strains i am used to.

and f me after reading the part about noobs posting crap about when to harvest lol. my post is more after info about this strain and peoples experience with early/later harvests of it.

my thread title should be changed to "i typically know when to harvest, but this strain is new to me and is flowering quite differently than others i have grown in the past. any suggestions for an outdoor sativa dominant opposed to indoor indica dominant?"

thx again guys, sorry for the misleading crap noob thread title :peace:
