When to flower?

I'm wondering when i should switch to 12/12. My baby is getting pretty huge and my space is quite limited. It's been in veg for 4 weeks. My grow closet is 55x55x190cm. The strain is Amnesia Haze and it's growing in a 27l (7 gallon) pot.

I was thinking about doing it next week but it might be too late.

I'll switch it tomorrow :)
Do what's best for you and the space you have available to you. I generally wait until they've been growing for 2 months before I flip but my rooms have plenty of room

I didn't get too much stretch on that strain, I even grew it traditional christmas tree style. Reached about 3 feet of which 2 was cola.

I'd flip now. You must remember you plant will double or even triple in size once you do. Keep this in mind especially since you said your space is limited.

I've just started on 12/12. I hope I won't run out of space! I'm a bit worried since it's a sativa dominant strain.

Also when should I be doing some defoliating? As you can see it's pretty bushy right now :)

I wouldn't defoliate..that seems a bit extreme.
Id give her a good look over and SELECTIVELY take off any fan leaf that is shading a growth tip. If you can bend that leaf out of the way instead of removing it even better.

She looks healthy, good job!

I've just read that trimming your plant would result in bigger buds. But that might be later in the flowering period?

Thank you. I'm pretty proud of it myself! :D

Trimming is great. Most plants benefit from a good trimming. Some even love a good cut back at the end of its cycle, roses for eg.

Q: Do you think there is a right and a wrong way to defoliate?
You read that trimming your plant would result in bigger buds. I'm guessing that would be if done correctly.
What did you read would happen if you do it wrong?

I'd tie those side branches down horizontal and super crop the taller ones. It'll get light through the plant and should make some massive colas. The plant looks good. I'd only trim up the bottom third of the plant where there won't be much growth in the flowering stage.
