When to Flower

How do you know when to switch down to 12/12? I take it you do so when the plant starts to flower? But when exactly is that?

YOU flower when you want TO.

when the size of your plant is about 1/2 the size YOU want it to be when IT is done growing...

It depends first and foremost it depends on

Lighting


For example.. if you are growing with CFLs and you have 3 plants.. and 8 - 43 watt CFLs, YOU should flower when the PLANT has 4-5 nodes at about 16 days after germination.. (if your plants are healthy)

BUT if you are growing 3 plants under a 1000 watt HPS YOU will have enough LIGHT to grow the plants LARGER - 1000 watts has about 12 inches of FANTASTIC penetration...
