Thank you. I get pretty good yields and I only have to care for two plants. Can't beat that.

After seeing that I am questioning my choice to do an ebb and flow for a first grow. Any tips for a newb in the art of indoor soil growing?
That looks so much more simpler then what I have planned.

Yes - it is. Caring for two plants is so much simpler than caring for 12. I read some folks that want to SCROG lots of plants and I don't understand that reasoning. There may be some confusion between SoG and SCROG.
But - that's not the topic at hand. So - a few things that have worked for me using soil indoors.
- This is just a personal preference - but I recommend a 2 parts black earth to 1 part Pro Mix blend.
- Go with a minimum 5 gallon bucket and fill the level to about 1" below the top of the bucket.
- Get your little ones into these buckets as quickly as possible. No need to gradually increase the bucket size. Let those roots have some fun.
- Feed them once per week at the recommended dosages. 1 imperial gallon on Sundays with about 10% run off of about 2 cups.
- Tuesday and Thursday I'll give them 1/2 gallon of water only during veg
- During flower, they also get Epsom Salt (1/2 tsp.) and 1/2 tsp of MagNiFiCal. There is no run-off with only 1/2 gallon.
- pH the water to 6.5 and use acids like phosphoric acid for bringing the pH down.
- Keep a small fan circulating the air down by the bottom of the plants. Helps provide air to the soil itself.
- Lollipop after the 3rd week of flower. Helps to clean out small sucker branches and improve the air flow underneath the plants.
