When should I feed my plant cal-mag?

Hi all! I’m currently on day 17 and I just up-potted into a 1 gallon pot. I’ve been using Happy Frog soil and watering with tap water the entire time (I do have what’s considered “hard water”). I haven’t introduced any nutrients yet, but I was wondering if I need to introduce cal-mag soon. What is the general procedure to follow? Thanks!

I’m sure you will get mixed answers with this one. But in coco, always, tap or not. Regular soil with RO or distilled water, a must. But tap water in regular soil isn’t really necessary. I would pay attention to any deficiencies and base your need there.

Simple answer is when it shows a deficiency. Pale striping between veins (mag) or spotting that turns orange rust (cal) indicates it should be added. Some add it in preparation for what is frequently a deficiency in their grows by supplementing it without really being sure if its needed. In moderation its ok to add even if not showing a need...but why not wait for an issue?

To the OP.......use it when the plant tells you it needs it.

I never have to use calmag and I grow in coco with tap water.
Same here. Growing in coco with tap water and have for years. I've never used calmag in my life. However I do use calcium nitrate for my nitrogen source and that has all the calcium you need. Which is why I've never understood many of these so called coco specific nutrients that still require calmag. But I don't use cannabis specific nutrients so I don't need a bunch of bottles of this and that.
