When is too late to take branches

I’ve trimmed at 5 weeks but now I do my last trim at week 3 minus big fans. I wouldn’t touch it that late maybe just look into using that larfy bud somehow?

I’d probably take off every mature fan leaf and see if you can’t get as much light pen as you can for the remainder but damn I’m not sure haha

I have cleaned out the bottom as late as week 3 in flower. I have found that cutting the fan leaf stem 1/2 way between the leaf and the stalk doesn't cause the plant any stress. That gets the leaf out of the way and the rest of the stem just shrivels up as the plant ages. By the time I am ready to chop there aren't any fans left on the plant, lol I remove a few from each plant all during the cycle.

That's my plan moving forward, just bubblebag any of the larfy stuff with the trim and call it a day. Last trim at weeks 2-3 for me, then just leave em alone and pull leafs as the die.
