growing in coco. I got a 3gl smart pot waiting for it, but I don't wanna be too quick about, would even prefer letting it fill the cup. Do you think I should do it now?

I'm kinda scared about transplanting when the roots have not filled the container, I like having the roots holding the soil tight when I take it out.

You've got at least a week or more before your plants start to fill up the cup. That's the strangest looking coco I've ever seen. Just to make sure everything stays together when you transplant, wet it down real good and let it set for half an hour or so.

you can grow plants up to a foot tall plant out of those little party cups but they might become root bound after a while so id wait till its about 6 inches. make sure your roots are getting air and you put enough holes in the cup too.

thanks! These are actually cardboard boxes and the holes I made keep getting jammed. When I water I have to keep opening the holes with a screw. Some of the plants do seem a bit disoxygenated. So I would very much like to transplant as soon as I can, but I will wait until 6" like you said.

pot pimp, what's strange about the coco? it's mixed with perlite 50-50.

try not to use cardboard, it soaks up moisture and it makes humidity high. if you dont want to build a grow box, you can just build under a table and wrap the bottom with black plastic. make sure its light tight though, and you might want to screw a 2 by 4 to it if its a fold table. but if your not on a budget, take your chances with a hydro store.
