When exactly to harvest?!

Hey guys! Im a newbie here and this is my first time growing anything. Im wondering when exactly is the best time to chop my babies? Some has over 70% brown pistils and some are still white but when i look closer for trichomes i can see more than 50% milky ones on both doesn't matter if i look the one with white hairs or the one with lots of brown hairs. So Im kinda confused! Don't know if I should harvest base on hairs or trichomes?!

Harvest when the trichomes are 80 to 90% milky to amber ratio for general rule. But depends on personal taste. If you go to when they are more amber its gonna have more of a body effect. If clear to milky its gonna have more of a mental/paranoid feel. More or less depending on strain type and if sativa or indica. The close up photo shows clear trichomes so you have a while on that plant.

Ok then I assume I must wait a little bit more. These are holy grail kush and og#18 by dna genetics both Indica dominant FYI.
 
Those buds have atleast three to four weeks left and well over a month in one of those the pics. Don’t even bother looking at trichomes until mostly all brachts have swollen and all pistils turned dark and receding. Pistils and bracht size are good indicators of when to start looking at trichs. When they say grow it until it looks mature and then wait a week or two more, that means to let it get to a finished look of all swoll brachts and dark receding pistils and then give it a week or two for trichs to mature to your liking. White pistils and small brachts= you got a ways to go and don’t worry about trichs for a while. When you do check them, make sure you’re looking at the brachts and not sugar leaves. The vast majority of people prefer bud that has atleast 25% amber 75% full cloud because it’s stronger, lasts longer. All cloudy is unfinished in my eyes and judging by the reactions of years of friends, people like the amber whether they know it or not. The trichs will very VERY rarely ever be ready before all the brachts are swoll and chunky with darkened receded pistils

Don’t cut in two weeks unless you want to smoke trash that’s a weak representation of the plant you spent so much time on. You’ll regret it one day when you learn to harvest at actual maturity and think back to this premature chop that you’re planning on. You’ll smoke it, think it’s half ass smoke cause it’s early, and move on to other strains when you never really got a good run at it to give it a real review. You’ll regret it. Here’s a bud that has about two weeks left to reach its true potential. You’re not close yet. 90% of people harvest too early and will cheer you on to an early chop. This was the best explanation of when to harvest I found online. Thank you for that. According to dna genetics they should finish flowering in 9 weeks but for some reason it takes longer for me. :/

You can pretty much ignore flowering times provided by the breeders. The variations in genetics and grow environments will mean that your plant will grow different then the breeders plants and they will be finished whenever they reach the end of their timeline.

YEa man...I’ve found that when they say 8-9 weeks flower you will have to actually take it anywhere from 10-12 weeks. I’ve only had one strain fully finish in 65 days. I mostly grow strains advertised as around 9-10 weeks flower and I’d say they should mostly all go atleast 11 weeks.
