When does weed flower in upper ny

Hi guys I'm a first time grower and happen to be growing a nothern lights Strain and live in upper NY so I was wondering when my plants will produce buds . I'd really appreciate any help , plants about 2 1/4 feet tall

..Did you change your light cycle to 12 hours of light, 12 hours of dark yet? Because if you veg'd to 2.25 feet, you are going to grow it into your ceiling when you flower.

In order to flower, you need 12/12. Otherwise, you are just going to veg forever.

Pretty sure he's talking outdoors . And I find that plants typically start around mid August or just before that. It's a race against mold up here, keep an eye out for that or you could lose the whole thing.

If you are concerned about them not finishing on time, consider inducing them to flower early, by using some kind of light deprivation. You may already know, but there are daylight hour charts for different latitudes you could refer to.

At a given point in time, you won't have to keep covering and uncovering, as the natural daylight diminishes they should continue to flower to finish.

On their own, without light deprivation I'd guess they'll finish by early October.

Quick related question. I'm in southern Ontario so kind of the same.
Can you start a plant indoors, veg it out under 18/6 then throw it outside. Would it flower properly? If so, how late could you do this?

RR is right in re finishing. Typically here, strain dependant it's mid to end of September till mid October or when mold starts

Like a black trash bag would work

Sounds to me like it would retain moisture/promote mold, retain heat, and it would smother the plant.

For outdoors? Fuck, man, why not just wait out the season and let the plant do its thing? It'll flip on its own.

Oh I might not I was just wondering if I cod just to have the buds more ripened by the time sept comes around

That's the thing, man, you're growing outside. You have to let it decide when to be ripe, because outdoors, you aren't in control; nature is. So you have to wait until it decides to be ripe. Patience.

Yeah, man, anytime. Get an LED or something and grow indoors after this round. That way next time, you can decide when and how big you want your buds. I hope I didn't come off arrogant or condescending, that's just about how it goes when you grow outside: you're at the mercy of the cosmos.
