When do seedlings in coco need nutes?

First coco grow, usually do soil. I know coco doesn't have nutrients for the plant, like soil, so when do you start with nutes? I'm aware I should start with low strength and build up, but when do you guys do your first feed?

I've heard wait 2-3 weeks, I've also heard when the first true leaves show.

Thanks fellas

I have always used low strength for the start. Like a 200-250 ppm on a .5 scale. I even use this low strength when I plant straight to coco from seed and water to germinate. Usually don’t go up in ppm for a week or two and always go up slowly

Personally, I start feeding daily around the 3rd day from sprout to run off.........that's assuming you start in small containers.
But that's just me.

Most bagged coco media start with a fairly high EC due to the calcium nitrate buffering, so watering with 200 ppm from before you even plant the seeds/seedlings helps to get it into the right level. Then you can just continue on from there, due to coco's low CEC, basically the only nutrients it has access to are what is in the moisture in the medium. So always feed, keep it moist, and just water around the roots to begin with. Once the roots fill out a container, you can water to runoff-plenty of runoff is good for new coco growers.

Coco is a high CEC medium.

OP I feed a low EC from sprout.

For me personally, as soon as the first set of leaves are bigger than the cotyledons, i start feeding. In this example, i would start feeding probably tomorrow.

Up until then and even prior to planting to planting the seed, i use cal-mag water about 4ml/gallon pH to 6.
