I just dropped my beans in rapid rooters today. My question is when should I put them under my 1000 watt light, and when should i put them in some soil? I know I gotta let'em sprout first but what are the determining factors in knowing when to take them out of the window sill and into the newly constructed room to get the HID treatment. also I have FFOF on stand by how long do i let'em grow before i move them into the soil?

Do you mean germination to planting or veg to flower ... germination to planting is when the tap root is bout half n inch and veg to flower is 2-3 weeks ... hope it helps good luck

I 'm wanting to know at what point in the plants life do i move it into soil, as of right now they are in rapid rooters. Do I wait till it gets it first true leaves, or stick into dirt when I have roots showing out the bottom of the seed starter tray.

The second thing I wanted to know is when do I place them under my light? I was planning on letting them sit in the window sill for a day or 3 before I moved them under the light.

My opinion is that you should transplant them when they have roots showing at the bottom of the tray but not directly into FFOF. I would get some seed starter or other mild mix and when you form the hole for them in the FFOF make it a bit bigger and fill it with the mild soil so the plant can adjust and grow into the hot soil as needed with less shock. When it has 2 sets of true leaves and is just starting working on it's 3rd is when you could move it under the HID, but at the max distance away to start, then slowly move closer. Make sure the temps are not too high and you have good air movement. Just my opinion...

Good Luck

Thanks for the info man. Exactly what i was looking for.
I got some seed starter already so I'll use it for the transplant, good idea.
Will they be alright in a window sill until they start on there 3rd node?

always wait until your babies root out the pot they are in, that is, the root hairs touch all the walls of the pot but dont start wrapping around the pot and each other yet.

The window should be ok during the day. It would be best if you can give them at least 18 hours of light, maybe add a flouro or cfl to extend their day. 24 hours light would be fine too. You could just move them into a lit closet close to the light at night. Temps should be above 70 but definitely don't let them drop below 65 for any extended length of time.
