ive tried many nutrient lines over the years,, from 2001-2003 i did side by side comparisons on 2 4x4 flood tables, same strain, same lighting, conditions, everything the same exept the nutrients...many were 3 part nutes, what i found was they all work,, once u get the mix wright or dialed in to your strain you get healthy happy plants.. i liked general hydroponics and plant life 3 part nutes best, followed by fox farm, dyna grow, and botanicare. B.C,and advanced worked well but i had alot of problems w yellowing and ph stability till i got the mix wright.. in 2-3 years of side by side testing i found the 3 part nutes just wer not cost effective,,i wanted healthy plants w big yields, potency all at the lowest cost possible..for this i liked the 1 part grow, 1 part bloom, or all in 1,, like foiliage pro, flora nova, and maxi series... all 3 work great, are easy to use and grow healthy big plants,, so it all came down to cost..maxi is by far the cheapest, but cheap in this case did not mean its not as good,, it grows just as well as the other 2 at a lower cost per run.. all my tests wer done w base nutes only, no bloom boosters or aditives.. i did seperate testing with aditives and bloom boosters after i knew the average yield and quality you get w the base nutes only..most base nutrients contain the npk and micro nutes to get healthy happy plants w/ out additives or boosters,, most boosters and additives in my opinion are a waste of money,, however silicate , kelp, and vitamin b.all have a time and place...i no longer have the room, time, or money to do testing and there are alot of nutrients that i havnt tried or even heard of back then,, i hear good things about canna, j.r.peters, and more that i have not tried..so as long as u grow, to each his/her owne, whatever nutrient line you use, as long as your happy and your plants are happy, that is the best for you!!! if you use boosters or additives and think they help,, use them,, it sure doesnt hurt..
grow well and be well to all!!
Hey, nice explanation and some great input! I am a grower in NorCal and started on GH Flora series 3 part at the beginning of this season and would like to switch to Maxi for bloom. I have and outdoor grow with 20 plants in 100 gallon smart pots and mix in a 200 gallon tote that I transfer the water up to the grow in my truck and pump out to the plants. So my question would be,.... If I decide to switch to Maxi, what mix ratio and measurements do you think would be required per gallon for a 200 gallon tank for the duration of this grow? I sure would appreciate you input. :-)

sorry i cant help you.. i grow indoors in a hydroponic setting,, i use maxi at 1 tea spoon per gallon, never more, but seedlings and young clones get along fine at 1/2 tsp per gallon...
i would think in soil you could probably go 1/4 tsp per gallon of maxi grow durring veg then 1/4 tsp per gallon of maxi bloom for flowerinjg..

Koolbloom liquid from day 1 of flowering, the dry around week 5 or 6 depending on your flowering time. IMO koolblooms not a waste of money!
Cool bloom liquid at gh recommended amount? I added it cuz it said 2 second day of 12/12... just wanna make sure I'm not gonna burn my plants....was trying to force flower with flower nutes

most bloom enhancers are bottled with advertising hype to trick consumers into thinking theres something special about them that's going to give the grower amazing yields or extra frost... or they make the grower believe in things like "force flower"

in the old days 10+ years ago these products will laced with plant growth regulators (pgr's) like cycocel
but some time ago the industry got caught adding this stuff in on the sly so most of the bigger names no longer add the pgr's

today there simply water and mono potassium phosphate (mkp)
https://customhydronutrients.com/haifa-mkp-c-1_46_29_183.html

it doesn't "force flower"

it simply adds more phosphorus and more potassium to the nutrient solution ...that it!!

if you follow the link above and look at the label on the bloom enhancer to see what its derived from or what the ingredient is youll realize your paying a large premium for the highly advertised bottle of hype

whats worse is they love to tell consumers to use lots of it because they sell more, and since its got the highest profit margins the dosage is almost always ridiculously high and in many cases completely unnecessary

liquid cool bloom youll never use more than 1 to 1.5 ml per galloon and probably only in the second half of bloom (depending on how your mxing the nutes)

"force flower" will be the new marketing verbiage used to sell watered down chemical salts to those foolish enough to believe the nonsense.

Kool Bloom
A few pennies worth of chemical salts mixed with water and marked up 1000 times.

It's not even worth trying to tell these people anything because they have bought into the nutrient companies marketing hype hook line and sinker.

When you hear people saying they wanted to "force flower with flower nutes" by using some ripoff bloom enhancer it's time to just throw your hands up in the air and walk away.

Maybe soon we will have legit research into this stuff. But for now trying to extrapolate any useful information from non scientific studies is... Just for fun.

After years of growing and trying different nute lines and boosters. I find they seem to work. But always improving other aspects so how do I know. I don't....

Also I suspect that anyone that has done the correct experiments probably Won't share their tricks.

I'll use koolbllom powder last two weeks...

Why are you suggesting cal mag and epsom salts (magnesium sulphate)

Calmag has magnesium in it so there is zero reason to add more magnesium sulphate (magnesium and salts) to a salt based fertilizer that already has that ingredient makes zero sense youll just lock your shit out if your a newb

So much conflicting information. To P boost or not P boost. I still don't know. I'd prefer not to spend the money, but if it will help I would get a P booster product.

The conflicting information is coming from newer growers that have a limited understanding of plant nutrition and the role each nutrient plays in the development of the plant. They are all starry eyed over products with "Big" Or "Massive" in their names that come with claims of 30% increases in yield.

The real information comes from those that understand a balanced nutrient regimen and not one where you feed excessive amounts of any 1 particular nutrient is the best way to have healthy happy plants. The biggest yields and the best quality is going to come from plants that were kept healthy their entire lives. Not those crispy fried plants with dried up leaves from overdosing on P/K boosters.

You can use whatever you want when you balance the N ppm : P ppm : K ppm ratio and whole solution ppm from any nutrients of any company. Whenever you want to change something, please calculate the total N ppm from each nutrient first. Everyone from this web has their own faith, people just believe in something. Personally, I think it’s better for you to buy an accurate thermometer and Humidity gauge. Good luck
