I have 6 babies but at varying age ranges all in seedling stage. They are all over a week old. I suppose I just have big ones waiting for lil ones.

Basically I want to know when I can turn my grow light ballast from 250w to 400watts then to 600w

Here are some pics.

Ps I know the largest one is ready I'm planning to put him in the garden when hes abit older and the medium size I kinda burnt. But they were my testing plants. As this is my first grow. But the babies I'm not too sure when they can handle 400watts???

.

I veg in a 3x3 with a 200 watt LED.

It doesn't give me the fastest veg but with a perpetual grow I'm moving plants from veg garden to flower garden at just the right time.

When your seedlings are as big as the plant on the left you could bump them to 400 W, The extra light will give extra heat problems.

Dont worry about wattage at different age/height... it's not very accurate in terms of a universal measurement. Use a lux meter to take guesswork out.

Seedlings/new clone cuts: 8-15k lux
Vegging: 20-50k lux
Flower: 40-75k lux

The rangers are fairly wide, to account for other factors such as strain and actual plant age/hardiness.. but if you get a cheap lux meter, and keep to the lower end of each range, and slowly work your way up, you can be sure your plants are getting what they need, without fear of over/under doing it.

It's also very helpful if your able to adjust light height easily, as well as wattage, so you can fine tune your actual light intensity at canopy level. Rather than going 250w to 400w, you may be able to simply lower your light a bit, to achieve increased light intensity, without actually having to increase wattage
