What's wrong with these leaves? PIX

Peace. I have a question about why the leaves on my plants (not all but more than a few)are either wavy or wrinkly? I have read all the books that I can find and I have watched 'nuff videos and I have yet to see/read anything that has an answer for this.

The first two pix are the two that exhibit the most symptoms/problems.
the last two shots are them all in the groups that they belong (to me). The black grow bags are the AK47 auto flower( top right corner is auto Afghan Kush Ryder) and the blue party cups are the G-13 Poison Dwarf.

The Thing is I have seen other pix with the same thing going on and it is never addressed as a problem. Can anyone give me some insite into this so I can attempt to reverse it before they start to show sex and flower? or is it one of those things that just happens and fixes itself:confused:

Plus rep kiss-assfor any solutions LoL

:peace:

I don't see anything wrong with the leaves or plants. Only thing I can think of is that they're still young, the leaves need to stretch out a bit to straighten, if that's what you consider a possible problem. Different strains grow differently, all my plants are bagseed from years and years of saving them so almost each of my plants start out looking different from each other. I don't see a problem, but there are more experienced growers here than myself who may see something. I'd say just keep up what you're doing, they look fine to me so far.

its just genetics, nothing else to say because they all look really healthy. look in my grow journal (shameless plug) and youll see i have a plant that looks JUST like that. in fact its even more 'bushier'

everything looks fine to me. when they get bigger they'll have some perfect leaves. I had the same problem. I'm growin some auto aks and some akrs too (haha another shameless plug) and when I started some of the leaves were fucked up lookin like some of yours. its not in the books or videos cuz its not really a problem. dont talk about this round the plants tho cuz you might hurt their feelings

by the way, thats a sweet line-up of plants you got there. if thats all for you, you're gunna be set for a while man! how many square feet of space are you using for all those plants? and whats your lighting? sorry if this is elsewhere and im making you repeat yourself. if theres a journal i'd like to sub

*edit: just saw that you have 6x cfls and a 3x3x4 box. damn thats a lot of plants for 9 sq ft. im doing 6 in 16! im hoping they get big though, i put them in 3 gal containers. stick to smaller containers and you should be fine. as far as heat goes, that sucks, i have heat issues too when its hot outside. get a fan moving across ALL of the plants asap. try and get them closer to the lights, thats a lot of mouths to feed with 6 cfls. I tried a couple of things to get my heat down. i moved my heat sensor around a lot to make sure that wasn't misleading me. you might try to find a CFL enclosure for your lights, or make a diy one with some thermal glass. if you had even a small 4in vent going out, i would expect a 5-7 degree drop in temps. some questions i have for you: how stealth are you trying to be? can you put an intake duct near a window? and can you duct the heat somewhere out of your grow room? these will all be factors in reducing heat. heat stress may also be deforming your plants a little, but at 85 you will still be completely fine. get a fan tho if you dont have one. i hope this is useful, there are far more experienced people out there than myself, this is just what i've gathered from reading around, and consulting with a personal friend who has good experience

Thanks for the reply. I think that they may be okay but I am still unsure. As you know there are no books or videos that speak of it so I have to ask for help from more experienced people. I too have done extensive reading before I even germed one bean!

As for the venting of it I have two inductor fans from Lowe's which seem to do no good and the door to it is open all day ( no dark period yet) with a 21" box fan in front drawing out the air. I do have an oscillating fan blowing over the tops of them and I put frozen jugs of water in there as well.

Because of your concern I have posted updated pix of them for today but I have no journal up and running. I am still sketchy on posting pix even (but I need the help and I can't call up a ganja farmer and ask away).

Thanks for the assistance and I will keep looking to figure it out

Wow.

I was about to post a very similar thread. I've been researching my ''problem'' all day long and have just stumbled on this!!

I too have some Auto Hindu kush Fems.

They are 1 week old (9 days) and under CFLs (20/4) in 7 litre pots. They are in BioBizz light mix and been watered with distilled water (Dont know Ph of this).

Temps 70-80F Humidity 45-55%.

My leaves started twisting on both plants 3 days ago, and its steadily getting worse.

I fed them today with 1ml/l biogrow in brita filtered water just to see if that would act as a 'pickmeup' They hadent been watered for 6 days prior to this.

I also bought one of those cheap soil ph test kits today, just to get an idea of soil acidity. My hydro shop man told me not to even bother with acidity in soil as it will always buffer it. I'm thinking it might not be the case after I got my results today.

The soil test indicated ph level between 5 & 6 (See pic) which is a bit low in my opinion.

I'm hoping that after seeing your pics and learning it could just be down to genetics, that I'm being ott. If not, perhaps you have a low ph in your soil?

How would one rectify this? I'm told using chemical ph adjusters can ruin the soil?

Thanks in advance.
Great thread!

I might add the guess of a micronutrient problem, either by the pH of your soil, water, water+nutes. Also, you can try one drop (or less) of detergent in a gallon of water or nutes, once. **must be plain dish detergent**. This will increase the wetting properties of the roots and provide better absorption of micros, specially if you are using softened or high-sodium water.
But this is a total guess...

I find auto flowers in general grow a little fucked up. Mine always looks a little dwarfed....like a dwarf.

PEACE. Thanks Minister. I did add Earth Juice MicroBlast to them prior to them going into the 2 gal growbags. They got transplanted into a promix with perlite on the bottom of the growbag for aeration and I added 1/4 tsp of Earth Juice Catalyst to the watering prior to putting them into it. The hasn't stopped growth or slowed it that I can tell and so I am just figuring it to be a natural thing although the 2nd (AK2) has lookied crazy from the beginning AND STILL GROWING! The leaves are twisted and gnarled and they are still growing out that way.

Since this is a fem pack, I am not too hasty to get rid of AK2 at the time plus since it is still growing I want to see if I can get bud from it as well.. I also have been giving them SUPERthrive in their water as well to aid in nute uptake. The first soil that they were in was a soiless mix potting soil with perltie and an organic fert from HydroOrganics called RainbowMix GROW which feeds for 3 mths. Therefore during the transplant they have benefit of the grow nutes as well and when they show sex and throw pistils I will start the Earth Juice Bloom nutes.

Thanks for the concern and the advice, Minister. Plus rep for you and keep the faith (whatever it may be).

PEACE AND THANKS TO ALL WHO WERE CONCERNED ENOUGH TO LEND A BRAIN CELL TO THIS MATTER. I am now in day 26 from seed and they are growing into beautiful young ladies...though they still have some crazy leaves but not really a problem. Though I didn't get to the bottom of the matter which I am determined to do for future references and to be able to give the advice or answer to another who may want to know the reasons for it.

And once again thanks to all who attempted to answer.....if nothing else you put my mind at ease and that is probably what was supposed to happen.....

:leaf:PEACE:leaf:

BTW the first shot is from DAY24 (DAY 25 PIX ARE TOO DARK) and the last are from DAY25 (YESTERDAY)
