You want to provide moisture the the roots at this point. The problem with over-watering is it doesn't let the plant breath. The plant swells, lockouts occur. High humidity is great for this stage, but I don't know about directly spraying them. He just needs to adopt healthy watering habits and he doesn't have to worry about spraying or ailing seedlings anymore. However, if you meant "don't water them anymore, just spray them occasionally until the soil dries back out", then I can agree with that. I think there is plenty of moisture in those cups though...Looks to me like normal growth for 2 weeks but I do see some yellowing. Could be your soil is a bit too "hot" for seedlings; hopefully you have not fed them anything yet. What kind of a mix are they in?
Use a hand sprayer to water them at this point if you can; it's almost impossible to overwater them that way.
I use a 400watt MH at 3.5 feet for seedlings, it's worked well so far. I'm no expert, but it's worked for me well. Edit: And it's a hell of a lot brighter than that light. Looks like he has a 250W at 6-7 feet.Lights? That is the first thing I saw, seedlings love florescent light and they dislike HID light. More light is not always good for the babies. I have learned how much young plants dislike the intensity of my 315 CMH!
I do full grow under HPS including seedlings and clones .Lights? That is the first thing I saw, seedlings love florescent light and they dislike HID light. More light is not always good for the babies. I have learned how much young plants dislike the intensity of my 315 CMH!
No watering schedual just growing them in coco everytime the top goes dry i spray them down nicely till they wet again, and no they look like that because i have just flushed the coco i know it advised not too but the holes i had in the bottom of the cups werent draining enough water and think i was getting to much salt and nute build up in he bottom so flushed them out, and leaving them couple days they apear to bit slightly better but looking at transpalnting this sunday and i am scared as the plants are a little week still and stretchy just so i dont damage them..Hmmm. They aren't that bad, really. What soil and amendments are you using, if any? What kind of watering schedule do you have them on? Looks like over-watering to me at a glace though. If not that, it could be that soil is just very hot and you gotta let em pull through it or transplant.
Hps just turned up to 600w have about 32inch away or so and its cause i used a flash on my phone so you could see the colour and marks on the leaves betterAlso, what type of lighting and wattage are you using? Looks to be HPS but it doesn't look very bright at all? Did you take those photos with a filter or something? Could be some stretch going on too, but I'm not sure if that's not from the (possible) over-watering.
I have been feeding them the slightest amount of nutes like 1/10th of what i have been told to gove them just so they have a little something as coco has no nute value to it, also i am keeping close eye on them for deficiencies to know if i do nees to up thw feed, but what are them dark spots on the leaves?Looks to me like normal growth for 2 weeks but I do see some yellowing. Thanks for reply and yeah trying to keep humidity around 50+ mark... i plan on replanting them this week hopefully that will help roots, if you have a look at my replys above it will give you a little more info. Thanks again for advice, all info gratelly appreciated guys! You want to provide moisture the the roots at this point. The problem with over-watering is it doesn't let the plant breath. I know bro but i got dual spec ones for that and started them on 250w, then put up 400 yesterday just put up to 600 to see how they react the light is about 32” away from the top, for next grow might invest in led of cfl...Lights? I havent let it get fully dry yet once just once the top goes little dry then i do, i am there every day watering it... this sunday will be replanting. So in other words its really hard to over water using coco and i have been giving them a few nutes just the canna coco a n b and some calmag but literally hardly anything just a couple drops of per ltrOkay. I think I know what your issue is. So you aren't supposed to let coco get dry. Coco is essentially passive hydroponics. Coca has no nutrients, nor does perlite. So, I'd water them, once, or twice a day, and you are going to have to add some nutrients as well, but not very MUCH, just maybe, 200PPM. Are you adding nutrients now? Let me repeat: Do not water coco like soil. It's almost impossible to over-water using coco. And you have to provide the nutrients.
It could be that they are overfed or underfed, then. It's hard to know. Need more data, like 1/8th tsp / gallon every ~ hours as opposed to just a few drops per gallon At first glance, I thought it was a soil grow. I am more of a soil guy, so I will let the coco guys weigh in on this.I havent let it get fully dry yet once just once the top goes little dry then i do, i am there every day watering it... this sunday will be replanting. Literally because they were small seedling i was taking mesurments from an insulin syringe so in i.u’s mesurments like 10iu of a and 5iu of b i know that sounds a bit silly but the recommended dose is actually more per ltr now ive heard a lot of controversy about feeding and not feeding seedlings straight away which is why i was only giving them the tiniest amount to see how they would react as i say i mixed that per litre of water, and shared between the 20 every day then would spray the top down with just phd water never above 6.0 or below 5.8, just to give them a little extra water as i say they are in small cups and didnt need much. It might sound a little daft but like i say im not too experienced just going of what ive read and been told, going to check on them today will upload photos in next couple hours its their second day under 600w now and just watered with no feed for 2 days as i explained i was worried that the discolouration was from built up of salt and nutes as draineg holes werent very big so thats why i flushed them with phd water to try clear out some of the build up, if looking better today will feed. Let me know what your thoughts are on this please. ThanksIt could be that they are overfed or underfed, then. It's hard to know. I think that's a good plan. After flushing them...if it's a nute problem that should resolve it (over fed). If they get worse, by my logic at least, you are under feeding them.Literally because they were small seedling i was taking mesurments from an insulin syringe so in i.u’s mesurments like 10iu of a and 5iu of b i know that sounds a bit silly but the recommended dose is actually more per ltr now ive heard a lot of controversy about feeding and not feeding seedlings straight away which is why i was only giving them the tiniest amount to see how they would react as i say i mixed that per litre of water, and shared between the 20 every day then would spray the top down with just phd water never above 6.0 or below 5.8, just to give them a little extra water as i say they are in small cups and didnt need much.
