What's the next best way of cooling down your temps in grow tent ?

Window AC: Works well, and will make rh dip. Perfect to run flowering tents right next to it. I’ve gotten as low as 67F in a small tent with 300w running. Rh hovers in high 40’s low 50’s.View attachment 5329139
Portable AC is more expensive up front.. didn’t get a chance to see the bill increase on it as I haven’t used it for this room. It’s a little overkill.

Finding a safe way to vent outside can help you as well. That’s a whole lot easier on the wallet.
That's really cool and I appreciate what you're saying but I live on a ground floor that doesn't look like a ground floor window? Lol but I could be wrong everything is about possibilities and chance the way and where your window is located is crucial I have no privacy it's too risky to leave my window open. My last grow was fine and i was circulating the same air my temps ain't even that bad 74 -75 all tho I do want to lower them lol

Why? 74-78 is perfect?
Really? I thought something that was in the 60s was optimum? Also bear in mind these are night time temperatures lol day time not so good which is why I need to find a way to lower temps before they get too stressed and start herming on me : /

What are your temp swings between daytime high and night time low. Work and getting that gap below 10f if possible. Genetics play a big role but my rule of thumb is below 64f slowed growth below 55 cold damage you should not have to worry about heat stress til about 84 85.
Mold likes it cool and humid 62f 70rh
Bugs like it warm and humid 82f 70rh

I wouldn’t bother trying to lower it. That’s fine where you are. If the humidity is up.. you could actually use more warmth in veg, but it’s no big deal. You can run 73F temps with 50-60% humidity throughout flower, and still grow some decent buds. My VPD is rarely in line.

buy a cheap door at home depot and put a window unit in. they are way cheaper than portable a/c
Not to mention way more efficient. Portable ACs literally need to be up against the window anyway, with the shortest hose run possible to come anywhere close to the claimed results that are advertised on the box. I get that some need it to be more discreet by not have a bulky window unit hanging out and taking up the whole window, but the portable units are really flawed in design IMO. 5 inch hoses with a weak fan, with too much restriction.. I guess they look nice and have there place, but IMO your better off buying a cheap window banger, and modding it by hooking your own bigger sized flexible ducting and booster fans that run to the window. Its called "window ac box modding", and i'm sure there are tutorials floating around here.. Still be way cheaper than the best portable AC they make ($$$$$) even today, and stomp all over it too as far as cooling the room/grow.. Still, better to just hang one out the window if possible, as you can't really beat having the condenser coil outside of the room.

Anyone remember or still use ice boxes?

Hookup a chiller somewhere under the house or up in the attic, and run insulated water\coolant lines to it, instead of trying to pump air through thin portable AC duct hoses. Not as efficient as a mini split, but still "cool". You could branch off to another stainless wort coil and chill off the hydro system res too. Seal the tent up and supplement c02.

Water cooled grow tents should be a thing by now..

Op said he was on the ground floor of an apartment. If it was me I would just double up on the exhaust and vent them straight in to the ventilation if his filters are not strong enough to cover smell run ozium

Love it, If you have a chest freezer in the basement you could easily add a copper coil or draft system chiller plate inside the unit.

It's a little low for LED lighting
It's high for HID lighting
I wanna try LEDs during summer I'm using damned 600w hps light atm lol they get the job done but can be so very hot and I'm only running it at 400w atm I'm to scared to dim it upto 600w because of my issues and I don't wanna create heat/light stress.

I just figured out the best setup....
I also had to sacrifice some aesthetics with pulling extaction duct through my living room so that it vents straight out to kitchen, where from fresh air comes in. Simply separating flow by heat difference. It looks kinda hideous bouncing on doors and having some scarf to cover it. BUT I can now bring temps from 31c to 26c - for "free"

My exhaust set is about $30 half DIY
