whats the limit of plants a 600hps can handle

just like the title says, i feel like i need another 600, i got 18 under a 600, vegged 6 weeks. 8 different strains in h.f. soil

How big is your space? With 6 week veg I think you need another 600 for sure. If you were doing a small sea of green 18 under a 600 could work. I try to stick with at least 100 watts per plant.

i only run 8 ish 12-12 from seed.seems about the magic number........

6x6 stadium style. i can easily add another 6x6. which i think i will do.

not see of green but most were vegged between 4-6 weeks so there not gonna be too big, they are packed like sardines but seem to be doing well as long as i rotate them often. ill get the other 600 as soon as i can get rid of a few zips of extra meds.

im gonna have to finish up a few of the early flowering plants before i get the extra 600 ill let u know how it works out

in my opinion if people have the proper funding,space and cooling just go with 1000w

I'm running (4)600 HPS too. I can only fit 6 Green Crack under each one, and even then i have to rotate the corner plants inward cuz i find the outer edges don't get enough light.
By the looks of your pics the outer 1/2 of all ur plants aren't even getting enough light, and will really start to lean inward towards you light.
If ur not even in bloom yet, and in week 6 of veg, how are your plants budding??? I see buds.........
And if ur only in week 6 of veg there is no way only 600 watt is going to be enough to bloom 18 plants solidly.
A good grow should be like 1 gram per watt of light. If thats the case then ur only gonna pull like 1 lb out of all that work.

Unless doing a SOG 18 is way to many.JMO

a friend of mine runs 30 plants with 3 days veg .. clones.. under a 600.. and roughly harvests about 12ozs

You guys if you can pick up a 360 watt LED 3 Watt dioed Bulbs... the BOMB!! Im tellin ya the yields are larger and the potency is amazing! Way better then HPS but I understand they cost more too, Im just saying if you can you will be very happy you did. Pkus LEDS last 5-10 years without having to replace it or the bulbs, they use half the electricity and give out twice the bang of the HPS lights. I have used both and sold my HPS lights now that I see what the leds are doing. But dont get the 1 watt bulbs, make SURE there the 3 watt bulbs... there actually called 3 watt dioeds. I am growing AK47 and a friend gets some stuff froma dispensary. He came over with some AK47 from a dispensary, my AK47 grown under the LEDS are wayyy more crystally, more dense, buds are bigger and harder, and much better overall tase and potencey lol.... So yea get ya some 3 watt dioeds LED lighths.... The Fucking INCREDIABLE!!

i got plants that are almost done i got some a few weeks in to flower and i just chopped a few and put some in, im so unorganized right now, either way a want another light

i almost bought the light but with another light means more heat and better venting and also my landlord covers my electic bill and with 1 600 she didnt notice a big spike. well even if i harvest just a few oz's it enough to buy me some more equiptment. gotta start small and work up, i just didnt do enough research before i started, im learning

The truth is a 600 covers a 3x3 area efficiently so depending on your style of growing u can cram as many plants as u want in there

Whether u grow 4 plants or 20 yields should be similar .veg time will b short if any for more plants .and longer for a few big plants I would do 16 plants zero veg strait from clone

im down to 12 plants right now and im using the stadium style and the 600 seems to be doing its job

The added 600 will help.

I am vegging 10-14 plants right now with a vertical 600MH. They are in a hydro set up in a 5x5x7 tent. I will be adding another 600MH this week though.
