You have alot of options/strains to choose from. Why not mix it up:-) Hit up fdd2blk and some of the veterans. They should be able to help you out and steer you in some type of direction......... But everyone has there own preference and style.

i wont be starting outdoors till march/may im just gettn everything ready now, i dont know if ill start from seeds then cut clones or just buy clones i figure 3 1/2 months is enough time 2 get everything 2gether, im going 2 use soilless because it works best with my nutes and ive never used straight soil

i always use feminized seeds for outdoors...you always get stronger plants from seeds and you want the strongest plants possible for the outdoor conditions

why go soil-less outdoors...doesnt make sense to me...get some 20 gallon trashcans filled with foxfarm happy frog straight from the start...no transplanting needed and if you grow well you'll have beautiful 12ft monsters in october that'll give you a good 3-5 lbs. each...

if youre set on clones, check out bayareacannabis.com (kind of like the craigslist for medical marijuana card holders in the bay area)...thats where i get my clones from (anywhere from $8-12 each)...you can do that or head up to oaksterdam and pay $15 per clone

and ive always had great success and high yields with outdoor AK47 and Hindu Skunk

my $0.02

yeah dude, soil-less is pretty useless outdoors...

if you have the space and dont have to worry about wanderers and invaders, outdoor will be the easiest most awe-inspiring grow youve ever had...nothing like a 12ft christmas tree looking erb plant with colas bigger then your arm

actually dude, using a compost, or organic soiless mix would be great to use for theoutdoors if its something your in to. N iMO, i would start prepping your grow area about a month before you decide to plant. Dig up all your soil, turn it all, and even take out as much as you want and replace with compost or soiless mix. the reason i say make it all out about a month before your ready to plant, is because it will make your mix blend in with the regular soil, and itll make the compost more rich with the natural nutrients of the earth. If you dont get much rain where your from, just water the compost every few days, and prep it, like you would your soil for an indoor grow, only for longer. make sure that you soften up the soil deep enough for a nice massive root system too.

The easiest thing to do when growing outside, would be to start from cuttings, not seed. thatll also give you something to do while your prepping the soil. just start your plants at the same time, top them once or twice during the month that youll have them indoors, and when your ready to plant, throw the bitch in there, and let the seasons pass.

i dont know much about outdoor growing, but i did read a 15 page article on it just the other day, n It was written by Marc Emery, pretty much step by stepping how he goes about setting up his outdoor grow ops. its a pretty damn good read man, its in this months Weed World mag. Go check it out if you want the play by play on how to prep, and grow outdoors.

if your going to do it, do it big. Why not start now indoor and when the time is right throw them outside at 3 to 4 ft tall? get some really big girls. 12 ft on first grow seems like wishful thinking, that is unless your digging your holes with a back hoe and using sand for drainage outside your 9 ft dia holes.

yea im going 2 start them indoor about a month before, i want major root growth before i put them outside, im worried about my nutes i use dutch master gold for indoor i like it alot and i want 2 use it outdoor 2 BUT i cant use it with any other nutes/fertilizers any idea on a soil or medium that works great outdoor with no nutes or fertlilzers

I like what miker said--get a backhoe and dig a really big hole...then fill it up with mucho peat moss, throw in a couple bags of stutzman chicken shit, some bone meal, greensand and 3 or 4 drippers and let 'er grow...to me the best plants outdoor have always been from seed--clones tend to turn out way bushier 'cause they don't have an apical meristem (main, central top) so ya get lots of bigger tops from seed. Start 'em indoors or in a greenhouse in Feb or Mar on a cancer moon...in April start sexing and getting rid of the males, plant around May 1...oh yeah, as for strains, alot of people like trainwreck and versions of that..i.e. purple trainwreck, etc. good luck.

Plants grown outdoors are less susceptible to virus and stress. That's just nature. If a plant is grown indoors under controlled conditions it's going to have a harder time dealing with the forces of nature once it's put outside. At least more so than if it were started outside from the beginning. It's kind of like how you're not supposed to use a lot of anti-bacterial soaps with babies because they need to build immunities to everyday shit.

I don't know your situation but normally I would say start from seed and keep it all outside if that's where you plan on finishing, but that's only if you're doing a bunch.
If you're only doing a single plant then start a clone outdoors. That way you don't end up with a male.
