You can get a lot of cheap magnetics.
CAP magnetic ballasts (ValuLines) are really cheap. But you get what you pay for.
I bought 2 of those, and neither one worked. Sent them both back for a refund and got a hydrofarm 600w dimmable

these run quieter, cooler and have the option of running at 60/75/and 100%. Unlike some of the older dimmables, the hydrofarm actually draws less power when its dimmed.
quantum dimmables are also pretty nice.
I try not to skimp on equipment like this. spend the extra 20$ and upgrade for a nicer ballast.

IMO I would recommend upgrading both the bulb and the hood. It will make it over $200, but your going to have a hell of a time to find a high quality 600 watt HPS ballast, light and hood for under $200.

There's not enough product information there to tell you for sure. It also doesn't say whether or not the ballast has a Warranty and is UL listed. I just like the HTG b/c the digital ballast is both UL listed and has a nice warranty. It seems like it would get the job done, but personally I would need more info before I spent the money.
