Whats hotter MH or HPS???

It's a faairly straight forward question but i can't seem to find the answer anywhere, What produces more heat from the bulb a MH bulb or a HPS Bulb?

Given the same wattage the HPS bulb will be hotter by several degrees

I second that, the mercury halide emits more heat, melting metal, so to say.

Ok now i am just confused, Seemed to me that the first poster said HPS was hotter, then you came along and agreed with him that MH was hotter. See where i'm getting lost here?

I have a switchable mh/hps. the mh is hotter by about 10 degrees F. in the same space.

I have a two 400 hundred watters one MH and one HPS and my hps grow room is always hotter. Maybe it depends on the ballast two, my HPS is a florulux and my MH in a sunmaster.

same ballasts and fixture and wattage bulbs the dif is so small that it dosnt matter. but hps will be a few degrees hotter.
