What's going on here?

Two of 4 plants in exact same conditions are showing signs of a deficiency or toxicity I think? Or could it be over watering? It's my first time using autopots and they seem to keep the coco quite wet let me know what you guys think! Pics don't pick up the colors very well, the new growth looks puffy and yellow.

Here is some better pics of the worse leaves.. 2 other plants in same conditions totally fine... Could it be the autopots over watering two chambers idk.. I have to constantly take the pots out the res and stand them on the edges so they aren't still sat in solution

I've seen several runs with these autopots, running coco and they all seemed to go south. I don't know if it's the coco / autopot combo or what, but it seems to present problems. I will say this; your plants don't look horrible, but I do see what you're talking about. I'm going to stick around and see if someone with some auto pot experience chimes in. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck.

Yes 100% they were absolutely fine untill two days ago then two showed this.. it's not a problem yet but defo looks like it could be!! As I said before the plants are wetter than I would ever keep em..

Just a quick update guys.. I could potentially have found the problem.. the solution in the mini res for the autopots had been in there a while and one way or another is had risen to 7 PH... this could cause a few problems they could lead to new growth being like this.

I have emptied the res and cleaned all the trays and then fed the pots with clean properly PHed solution. The the run off was slightly lower EC than what I put in and pH slightly higher.. will keep you posted. As allways any advice or suggestions welcomed!

So, after getting the strange new growth under control and the girls looking strong and vibrant again. I switched the autopots back on and now they have started the cycle again.. it's clearly these auto pots over watering them.. they keep the coco weter than I ever would keep any plant.. that is with the exact specifications that there website says clay pebbles in bottom clay pebbles mixed through coco etc.. followed to a T.. any body she'd some light? Obviously I could turn the res off every day or so but that's surley defeats the point of auto pots?

Spec for any new readers:
1200x1200x2000 tent
Decent extraction to out side .
F-SERIS strips x2/x4 when I can control the heat
In coco/clay pebs/perlite
Feeding 1.6 ec of canna nuets A/B plus calmag.
Any help would be appreciated I'm.new to these pots but not to growing plants in general!!

PS just looked pictures don't do it justice new growth is shrivled and yellow and plant is drooping in general

There's a guy on youtube...John Berfelo. He started this year's run with autopots...he had issues like you. I'd look him up. He devoted about 6 episodes on his autopot run, the problems he had and how he fixed them. Not saying what this guy has to say is the gospel, but I'd give it a look. Good luck.

Can't find the specific autopot episodes

Go to his page, click on videos, 10 episodes from the first one listed, you'll see "Wollastanite" (I believe this starts his run)...and it goes (4) more episodes up to "Recovery and Growth"

Good luck

I've never used auto pots before so forgive me if this seems like a stupid idea, but couldn't you put the pump that's moving your water/food on a timer? IDK, have it turn on once every couple hours or something? IDK how often they go off now, or if they trickle endlessly, but it seems that using a timer would allow you to control the flow of water and therefor the over watering problem?

Auto pots are gravity fed other wise this would be the perfect solution.. I'm.not 100% these are over waters now.. I just can't for the life of me work it out

yeah, i watched a video. kinda like a cross between gravity fed and ebb/flow. that sytem isnt supposed to turn "on" until the plant drinks up all the water, so if it was too much water then it would mean that the valve in every pot is malfunctioning? yeah, seems unlikely.

I've posted a few more pics in a more recent thread. If you wanna have a look I'll be most appreciative.

I think you're referring to this post. I know we both said it's probably not the pot system but it sounds like you said that you turned the problem off and on by disabling the autopot. Which points to the pots/ reservoir.

So I'm not entirely sure I had fixed the problem but I certainly halted if for a while.. then when I used new lights and res again And shit went South fast. I could be a mix of all these things I suppose, I've just got them on light feed and in intense lights now I'll give them a week or so see if they pick up.. the strange thing is the root ball was huge and very very healthy looking
