Whats better for yeilds bigger pots, longer veg, more plants?

Just a question for veterans. For better yeilds, in a small space, is it better to have say 4 plants in 3 gallon pots or 2 in 5 gallon pots. Also if I increase veg time from a month to 2 months will I see more flowers? Space is 2x2x7. Light 750 actual led.

above is a link that may provide some help. A question like this though is bound to get several different answers. Some people will jump in saying grow one massive plant. Others will say two, some will say four. I can tell you the bigger your root ball, the more capability the plant has to get larger. Other important factors to consider are how suitable is your light for multiple plants (Im not familiar with LED's) and the size of your grow space as you dont want to overcrowd.

I would say in such a small space that you will do best in 3 gal pots, 4 is probably best. Maybe a bit longer than a month veg but I wouldnt advise 2 month veg. If your yield is poor I'd check into the light itself. I think 750 watts of good light is too much for a 2x2.

yield ultimately boils down to many key elements, light/wattage, temps, strain, veg time, care, nutes, etc..etc.. I use a similar sized space and 2 plants of the right strain @ 12/12 from seed can fill it evenly. Conversely a different strain will let me fit 6 easy @ 12/12 from seed. In my opinion, yield is most strongly linked with light and strain

edit: I also agree with @growingforfun, 750 actual watts is a bit much.

Sog, or a scrog in that area will do good.. both have great yield potential, but for separate reasons. Sog, more plants, short veg, scrog, less plants, long veg...

That is only one choice, in addition, as mentioned above, water, lights, ventilation, plant maintenance and genetics are other reasons...

Bigger pots longer veg = bigger yield. That’s my theory anyway:)
And that's it right there.

Even a closely pruned plant is going to take up 2 x 2 feet very, very quickly. Growing more than one plant, yield wise, is a complete waste of time. The only reason to ever do that is if you're going for variety, not overall yield.

I don't use a tent. I have an entire basement. That said, one of my white widows will easily fill that tent up and without much work at all (I top once and let 'em go) give you between 4 to 6 ounces. (I do run a 600 watt HPS though...so there's that.)

(I wasn’t considering space in determining my answer either)

You can likely get just as much yield growing more smaller plants with less veg time as you can vegging a scrog for a couple months. Plus you get to harvest sooner because you're cutting out the veg time. Scrog is a decent method but it does take additional time to veg. If you're looking for a faster harvest then SOG is the way to go. 12/12 from seed is the fastest to harvest. I can pull over an oz off of 12/12 from seed plant. You could fit nine plants in one gallon pots in a 2 x 2. Much of it is strain dependent as well. Indica strains will do better for SOG. Minimal branching and just one big cola.

It's a 2 x 2. He doesn't have to scrog shit. That area is so small a typical non topped plant would fill it right the hell up in 6 weeks of veg.

Yeah you're right. One decent plant will fill that space up. I was mentioning 12/12 from seed SOG because it cuts out much of the veg time and get you quicker to harvest. Plus you can grow multiple varieties at the same time.

Yeh all down to the training. I personally would go with slightly more, and then prune them right down so u have 4-5 colas a plant. Properly strip them. Why put all ur faith into one plant. Throw in a good few and just select the branches you want. Thats what id do.

i would shove 20-40 very small ones in there (ol school sog) too small of a spot for anything else in my opinion. grow um in solo cups for a week or so , flower them in half gallon pots.... lots of food will be required for that .

Think of it like a fish in an aquarium... It is only going to get as big as the environment allows. That includes pot size and lights.
