Ya need some early strains. There are a bunch of them that finish late sept to mid oct. Trust me. It sucks when your tending to them and bam! a freeze hits early and wipes them out. It only takes 1 night to do it.

You are not going to be able to put them in the shade to get them to flower. They need total darkness to flower.

some people will put a tarp designed to cover a plant to induce 12/12 lighting sooner. this is an option if you're dedicated

so, since i'm "bran new" i jes gotta ask.

hence, when a freeze hits and as you say, "it wipes them out", does that mean they're literally "wiped out" as in useless?
or does it mean they'll be no more growin and time to harvest?

You need to check out plants that can handle heat and humidity as well start them first week of march as long as there's no more frost and look for an early harvester there's a lot of plants that offer this. Iranian something from dr. Greenthumb is something to look at if ur down for the cause.

If u wanna go with attitude check out there early lines like early mist or any of those they say they harvest in sept so that might be an option
