What would you do?

OK so I live in a Condo complex where units are joined and people are right on top of one another. About 6 months ago maybe 7 I heard a rumor about one of the people in another unit getting raided by the cops where they found a considerable amount of cash and oxys. Shortly thereafter the guy who lived there was gone and the unit sat empty (I imagine he went to jail or fled the country). Either way the unit is now up for sale, I confirmed this by the realtor key on the doorknob and finding the unit on a realty website. Well about a month ago three packages arrived all packaged the same identical way. They are clearly not from Amazon and are perfect cubes about 8"x8"x8" maybe a bit bigger. Given the history of the unit and the fact they are all packaged the exact same way I highly suspect the packages contain drugs or cash. They have been sitting out in the rain for over a month. I am sure the other people who live in the complex have noticed. What would you do.

I would make up an amazing story and post it on the internet

it's a true story, but even if it were fictional I would like to see what people would do.

Also get a felony for opening / taking mail that isnt addressed to me. If unopened i might be able to say I was returning to post office or sender which would be believable considering they have been sitting out, but its like who appointed me post master general.

Only if someone sees you. I'd be afraid there was a bomb or booby trap of some kind in there. Sort of a post raid shut the hell up.

I never though of that but who would send 3 STFU's .... usually drugs and cash are sent in multiple packages like this so if one is discovered the others have a chance to make it through and they dont lose whole shipment, often this technique is used to ship MJ from states where it is legal to the east coast. Could be same thing or someone is using address as a drop ship and got spooked.

if people are "right on top of one another" then there's no being stealthy about it. someone will probably see you. bonus shitstorm if the cops are waiting for someone to pick them up.

technically it's not yours but this in this situation it's quite a few rungs below stealing imo. it's abandoned property. dude obviously left no forwarding address and didn't send anyone to get them. a month? abandoned.

if he really did get raided don't think the cops just forgot about the place, especially if they suspected he was getting special mail, but a month is a long time for cops to just hang around and wait.

if it were me i would wait until the stealthiest time possible and go over and inspect the packages. lift them, shake them, sniff them, whatever. then i'd bring them inside, and sit on them for a couple days to see if there's any heat on them. if cops show up, they are unopened and you can hope for the best with the "i was going to call the shipping company" defense. if no one shows up, fuck it. those shits are abandoned.

Fuck that have a friend swoop them up and be outside while he does it, if a car follows the package you have trouble...quick answer do it at night...
