If you earn peoples respect, then you will be successful at any aspect of life. When people respect you, they will help you accomplish your goals.
Earning respect through fear or intimation, is a shortcut. People follow you because they have something to lose. Wearas if you had earned that respect, they do it because you are worth respecting.

Example

I loan you $20. You don't pay it back. I will never ask for it. I see it as money well spent. It is worth $20 to know I cant trust you.

You pay me back, and buy me dinner at Wendy's or something, because I was nice enough to help you. Guess what, next dinner is on me . By needing something from me, in the end you earned some respect.

It is easier to be hated than respected.
Respect is earned, or forced upon. When it is forced upon then they usually hate you too.
When people become respected, they have influence.
An example

Weak people want to be......Strong
If you come across as strong, to a weak person, they respect you.
Now you can either take advantage of that respect and have them do your bidding, or you can teach them to be strong and at the same time respect other people.

Someone is going to read a violent post on here and take it to heart, react on it, and suffer the consequences because they wanted to stand up for themselves but were misinformed on how to do it. Unfortunately, when you dealing with a game that criminals play, because growing and selling weed is criminal, you attract people who tend to not give a fuck about respect. Mayberry doesn't exist, so, in this world, no matter how nice you are, if people know you hustlin', someone is gonna try your hand and see where your nutz is at. You can't be showin' too much weakness if you gonna be hustlin'. You will get got. That's just how it is

You seem to think being nice is a sign of weakness or maybe I misunderstood your point. Nothing wrong with using force when the situation presents itself. However, there are lots of other ways that solves the problem and gains respect in your endeavor.

3) He burns down your house in the middle of the night.
4) You stab him to death when he takes out his garbage.
5) You spend the rest of your life in jail as Mrs. Large Black Man.

Play it out however you want but it always ends up with you wearing lipstick and a chiffon muumuu.

At least the grower is doing the right thing now (moving his grow) and has learned a valuable lesson that only cost him a few plants instead of a few years in jail.

I've got to tell you the times I went to jail hurt a whole lot more than a busted nose, a fat lip or a dozen stitches. It sure took a lot longer to get over also. The most important thing I've learned is you never know who your fucking with or what they are truly capable of doing. Would I kill some guy because he stole a few plants, no. Would I kill a guy for breaking into my house with me & my family home, in a heart beat.
