You'll get the most yield by doing research.
The more you put into learning the more yield you will have.
What ever method you choose depends on your situation.
The rule of thumb is about 1oz. per foot of plant height.

Good Luck on your Grow.

IMO SCROG has to be the way forward.

Its a training method that doesn't rely on penetration power of your lights.

If you can get 300-400 actual watts of cfl over a 2.5x2.5 SCROG screen and train the SCROG properly then this should give you the best yield IMO.

all depends, do you have the room to grow a tree. or a Bush?
do you have the lights. top/side lighting?
do you have the time to do the scrog or what ever training you want to do?
Everything has advantages, and dis-advantages. you have to weigh that out for what your goals are with this grow.
Is this your first grow? IMO I would keep it simple as possible, build on this grow to do more the second grow.

Bigger lights are the best way to increase yield. Lsd or fim for 4-8 tops and cut all the bud sights on the bottom half off.

Worry about yield after you learn to properly grow and care for a plant. Grow it naturally and learn what it takes and how it reacts first. When your done you'll have learned a ton and still be able to reap the rewards of your effort. If you absolutely can't keep your hands off it (trust me I know its hard) do a simple topping or LST or super crop one branch to see how it reacts. Learn the basics of growing first and yield will come on its own. Good luck and enjoy.
