You know, for a digital ballast? They are quite controllable (or should be)
I'd think they should be made to handle lower watt bulbs. (doubt they do, but is probably a trivial design change)
Now a magnetic is a different animal.
Don't try it either way (or pick up the phone, dial 9 1 and then flip the switch)
